10 Highlight Videos Every MMA Fan And Newbie Must Watch
Whether an MMA fan or not, anyone can enjoy a good fight; fighting is something we all grow up with and understand. We at MMA Root have compiled 10 MMA highlight videos everyone should watch. The highlight videos featured in this post were all hand picked to make MMA fans remember why they love this sport so much and make fans out of people who are new to this sport. So let’s get started, shall we?
Knockout
This is arguably the greatest UFC highlight video out there. Combining some of the best and most shocking knockouts in UFC history with superb editing and a song that flows perfectly throughout each and every knockout makes this the perfect highlight video to start this post off with.
Phil Baroni: The New York Badass
Baroni is a legend in this sport for two reasons: character and excitement. Win or lose, Baroni brings a fight to each and every one of his opponents, and does it in style. People love him or hate him, but no one can stop watching him and looking out for his next fight.
Anderson Silva: Grand Theft Title
The Spider is not only considered by most to be the #1 middleweight in the world, but is also considered by many to be the #1 P4P fighter in the world. Silva made a big splash in the American MMA scene when he stepped into the UFC and defeated Chris Leben which earned him a title shot at then champion Rich Franklin, who Silva also beat in dominating fashion. This highlight video takes you through Silva’s late career in Pride and early career in the UFC, and what he went through to become the UFC middleweight champion.
Takanori Gomi: The Fireball Kid
Gomi is a legend not only in Japan, but also in MMA’s lightweight division. Beating a who’s who list of lightweights, Gomi is arguably a top 3 lightweight in the world and this highlight video captures his impressive career in entertaining fashion.
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua: Grand Theft Title 2
This is a highlight video of Shogun’s journey through the PRIDE - Final Conflict 2005 tournament in Japan. Grand Theft Title 2: Saitama City, based off of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, puts a unique spin on Shogun’s 2005 quest to becoming the #1 ranked light heavyweight in the world.
3rd Man
This highlight video is unique because it shows you both the winner and the loser, their emotions and their thoughts, and the 3rd man watching it all take place in the ring. The 3rd man is based off of the popular Pride ref cam that recorded footage within the ring and gave you an up close and personal perspective of every fight.
Fedor Emelianenko
The Last Emperor is regarded by many as the greatest MMA fighter to have ever lived. Known by most MMA fans by just his first name, Fedor has developed an MMA record of 28 wins with his only loss coming by a cut from an illegal elbow strike. Fedor has gained a mystical status in the MMA world from his dominance and consistency in MMA’s heavyweight division.
Hurt
It’s hard to make pain look beautiful, and that’s why videos like Hurt are so rare. This highlight video reminds us of the hard work and sacrifice MMA fighters put into their careers to entertain us fans, and how sometimes it hurts them mentally as well as physically in the process.
Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic
Cro Cop has one of the most legendary careers in MMA history. With 16 out of 23 wins coming by way of knockout, it’s no wonder why Cro Cop is a fan favorite. Cro Cop gained a lot of popularity in this sport through his trademarked left high kick, which has been used to knockout top MMA fighters such as Aleksander Emelianenko and Wanderlei Silva.
Furious Angels
There’s no better way to finish off this post than with this highlight video. Furious Angels captures the highs and lows of MMA better than any other highlight video out there. Exposing you to MMA legends and the emotion they bring with them to each and every fight, it’s no wonder why Furious Angels is a personal favorite of most MMA fans.

Boondock-
Glad to see you getting some more recognition. Been a fan for a while. Any chance you do free lance work and you’re based in California?
it “hurts” me to see that someone thinks “Hurt” was a Johnny Cash original. Nine Inch Nail’s did that song back in 1994, bro. anyway, HURT was a great video, great syncing up with the music/landed shots. gotta love BJ Penn jettin’ up the ramp.
