forrest y did you run from the ring like a girl?

  7. rjohnson on August 9th, 2009 2:22 am

man , i watched it live, i watched about 5 times over and again and man forrest was fighting out of heart after that 1st shot that rocked him… forrest fought hard but after that 3rd clean knock own he threw his hand up not because he was out but because he knew it was over, either get finished in grabd fashion or put your hand in the air and for lack of better words wave the white flag. got respect for griffin for fighting even after it was clear he was hurt, and w/ silva doing his ring antics that crushed griffin’s pysche, but again griffin has heart and my respect. but hate the way he ran, we all wanted to hear his response, but don’t worry we will…

  8. Rolle on August 9th, 2009 2:31 am

Where are the Anderson Silva haters now? LOL best p4p in the world, made forrest, a great fighter look like a clown, toyed with him, just like he did franklin. Gotta love this beast

  9. sJ on August 9th, 2009 2:42 am

Anderson Silva makes good fighters look so bad. Pound for Pound, the BEST. If the champion of 205 was anyone except Lyota, I would bet my whole wallet that Anderson Silva could hold 2 titles at the same time. Lyota is so scary good too though so I don’t know who would win.

  10. Kevan on August 9th, 2009 2:44 am

i think he as so much power in his hands that even a little shot like that can knock u out lol.

  11. tamir on August 9th, 2009 3:03 am

  14. LVfightfan on August 9th, 2009 3:33 am

Wow….. What a joke I think someone got PAID OFF!!!! Never have we seen Forrest act like this I thought he ” will never give you a fight you have to take it from me “… Dude this fight was fixed!!!! And that sucks…

  15. Joe on August 9th, 2009 3:34 am

dont make fun of forrest, at least he had to balls to push the fight like most fighters wouldnt against the spider, this match will bother griffen so much that he will become a better fighter ull see, but who’s next for anderson silva? i say give tito ortiz a warm welcome back tot he octogon against him LMAOOO

  18. luis90004 on August 9th, 2009 3:53 am

man this fight looked so rigged!!! forrest griffin has taken way much more punishment in other fights and not go down! Pure BS! either forrest was paid or dana set this up jst to bring silva’s popularity back up.

  19. Joe on August 9th, 2009 3:55 am

Shame on forrest if this is true!

  20. dienursleep on August 9th, 2009 4:38 am

[...] There were around 17,500 UFC fans watching, as Silva toyed with Forrest Griffin in the first few minutes of the light-heavyweight bout, until he finally finished the fight at 3:23. You can watch a video of the fight, by visiting mmaroot.com. [...]

  22. Brutal Truth on August 9th, 2009 4:50 am

The athletic commission should embark on a full scale investigation into this stinkeroo.

    a) this “fight” was so obviously a fix. Griffin “went in the tank” without the slightest effort to make it look legit.

    b) I don’t know if this “fix” was to cover a big time betting line or if this is just compelling evidence of the UFC’s intention to proffer “works” as in professional wresting. If the latter, then this promoter should be injuncted from representing these as sporting events and instead be compelled to present them as “entertainment” as professional wrestling is. The Ken Shamrock and Brock Lesnar “acts” should have been obvious heads up to us all sooner.

    c) it comically ironic that there’s very real evidence that Anderson Silva is practically a “sissy” , a non athlete in the boxing ring where his professional boxing record is 1 – 1.

    d) shame on Dana White

  23. dienursleep on August 9th, 2009 5:08 am

brutal truth is a brutal moron, anderson silva is the best, only an idiot would say otherwise..
Some people just cant accept the truth. I wathced the fight and saw forrest get pwned.
Anderson silva is truely masterful fighter

  24. axlbundy on August 9th, 2009 5:15 am

hmmm. rigged, ithink so. forrest has got his ass beat worst and never ran out of the ring like that. every time silva would touch him he would drop. ive seen him take harder punches and never floped like he did at the last punch. this is obviously to put machida vs, silva at the end or the beggining of the year. and yes machida will beat shogun, u could bet your life on it.

shame on dana and forrest if this is true. which ihope its not.

  25. Filipe on August 9th, 2009 5:20 am

Im from brazil and i dont want to see anderson silva fighting lyota machida beacause first…they r friends second both of them r undefeated in UFC and third one of them u get seriously hurt..xd

  26. paul on August 9th, 2009 5:21 am

you are not well informed. forrest did not run away. he was bleeding from his ear and they had to take him to the E.R. as soon as possible.

as for the conspiracy theories, this is the only thread i’ve found online that actually contains some comments that question the legitimacy of this fight. i don’t know which fight some of you guys saw but i saw the one where forrest tried to take the fight slowly but surely to anderson in his own trademark forrest style and he got owned by the best striker in mma and the best p4p mma fighter in anderson silva. those of you who didn’t see the power punches that forrest lounched are just blind.

  27. paul on August 9th, 2009 5:25 am

one more thing. it’s easy to ko someone if you dropped him just moments ago. forrest was rocked bydly so it didn’t take much to finish him. really, there isn’t a shadow of a doubt that this fight is legite. sides, forrest isn’t known to have the best chin out there, that’s a well known fact.

sides, if you notice the reports and comments, you’ll see silva vas training for those kind of punches because those ‘babies’ pose a big threat to forrest’s style.

  28. samsonite on August 9th, 2009 5:29 am

FORREST WAS BLEEDING FROM HIS EAR!!! THEY WERE TAKING HIM TO THE E.R.!!! THAT’S WHY HE WAS RUNNING!!!!! SUSPECTED BLOOD CLOG!!!

  29. Eli on August 9th, 2009 5:31 am

You think it was rigged? YOU go in the octagon and fight Silva and see how rigged it is…. Both of these fighters train hard for the job they love to do and if someone gets knocked out like that with skill so be it… You gonna say Mohammed Ali the greatest of his sport rigged his fights too? RECOGNIZE TALENT AND SKILL WHOEVER IT MAY BE!

  30. dillon on August 9th, 2009 5:44 am

i would knock silva out xD

  31. DaSpider is too Good! on August 9th, 2009 5:51 am

Damn, that has to be one of the BEST one sided fights I’ve seen. Anderson silva pound 4 pound best right now, no question…actually maybe he could lose half his body wieght and face GSP ^_^.
He was dodging Forrest’s weak-ass punches like nothing (the second knockdown was rape,)
He needs to carry on, Don’t retire Spider :)

  32. Caio on August 9th, 2009 6:04 am

hahahaha…….Spider is the best!!! Brazil has the best fighters in the world!!!!!!

  33. Adam C on August 9th, 2009 6:17 am

This was NOT a paid off fight. He took off because he was badly injured. As far as performance, he just isn’t **** next to Silva. The only two people that are this far from the rest of the fighters are Silva and Machida. They are in a league of their own, and I believe they’re the only ones who can give each other (and us) a good fight. Kudos to Forrest for trying, but who (aside from hope) didn’t expect it to go this way?

  34. PhillyFrank on August 9th, 2009 7:42 am

I saw the fight live at ringside. It was like a pitbull fighting a poodle. Bring on Machida. He will be the next victim of the Spider.

  35. Dennis on August 9th, 2009 8:05 am

I remember his last two fights defending Silva when people were hating on him …. Glade to see everyones back behind him..Im not gonna lie I wish the fight would have been longer LMFAO

  36. Pierre on August 9th, 2009 8:30 am

This fight is the proof that big muscles and big power are not the only assets you need to fight at top level. I’m surprise at how slow the american top training teams are at getting to this conclusion. What you need is suppleness are accuracy. BJ Penn is another perfect example of this.

A guy like Tito Ortiz is unidimensional. He grounds and pounds but that’s it. He can’t do anything else, he can’t adjust to a fighter that doesn’t play his game. That is what happen when he lost against Machida. He was not able to adjust to Machida evasivness.

MMA is not about blood thirsty brutes that want to kill each other, it is about being able to understand the style of your opponant, then adapt to it as fast as possible within the round or the next round. That is the true mark of a champion.

I’m not surprise that Silva won the fight. You must recognise that his training is about suppleness, accuracy and speed not just big muscles.

Anderson Silva will eventually lose a fight because anything can happen in a fight but in the meantime the other fighter’s look like children on the playground. Recognize this guy as a true champion, one of a kind in a decade and get a lesson from his style. Try to learn something.

I guess my point is this: The goal in MMA is to be the first to get to the chin or any other parts of your oppononant and muscles don’t help you do that, but my guess is suppleness does.

  37. sherdogsssss on August 9th, 2009 8:36 am

  40. angelo on August 9th, 2009 10:25 am

Griffin is a little ****… Silva é foda rapazeada hahahaha!

  41. Steve on August 9th, 2009 10:31 am

You can’t be serious. A fix? Maybe the only way to quiet the “fix” conspiracy theorists is to have Anderson Silva punch each of them in the face so they can feel his power.

  42. Gman on August 9th, 2009 10:33 am

All the fights were lame, definitely not worth the money. Been an mma fan for a long time , never been so disappointed after a fight. I pray that the fight wasn’t fixed, but something wasn’t right. Did you hear Joe say at the begining of the fight that Forest was going to open up with a couple of high kicks ? How do you get info like that ? It definitely looked like a flop. During the comentary at the end of the fights They barely talked about the Forest Silva fight and Joe didn’t have anything to say , he just had the same weird look on his face that every one at my house had, like what the f was that ?

  43. UFC Notes on August 9th, 2009 10:40 am

Anderson Silva embarrasses Forrest Griffin at UFC 101. Both fighters danced around for the first minute or two so they could feel each other out. Silva lands three punches on Griffin with the last one knocking him out. Silva was stepping back from Griffin with his arms down and then just throws a quick jab at Forrest (still stepping back) and knocks out him out. Silva made Griffin look like a novice fighter in this one at UFC 101 in Philadelphia. Anderson Silva taunted and toyed with Forrest Griffin the entire fight.

  44. MMAfan on August 9th, 2009 11:11 am

Anyone who thinks that fight was fixed is a complete ignorant moron. Realize that Anderson is THAT good and can make any fighter look like a chump. Who knows why Forrest ran out, only he knows…but who cares…he was clearly beaten and played with…so easily..haha!

  45. Tha KLOUN on August 9th, 2009 11:13 am

I think it was rigged.. it’s my opinion,.. I think it was a rigged figth so he can fight Machida.. witch i think Machida would take Silva

  46. Chad M Brock on August 9th, 2009 11:22 am

Griffin had a dislocated jaw and his corner wanted to get medical attention. Not excusing his performance though, pretty terrible, staying out of the”fix argument, although not out of the question.

  47. balsis on August 9th, 2009 11:30 am

Anybody who watched this fight and DOESN’T think it was fixed, either doesn’t know the history of how Forrest Griffin fights and performs or is just completely blind to the truth of where this sport is headed. It is certainly headed down the same path as boxing if not WWE (if it is not already there).

If you’re used to watching MMA and specifically certain fighters and there styles, there is something about watching one of their fights that has been fixed. You don’t even have to know any of the “behind-the-scene” details or what events transpired to lead up to the fight being fixed. You just know by simply watching….you know it in your gut. Forrest Griffin has real heart when he fights. That is why he performed so poorly when “attempting” to throw this fight under the guise of being knocked out. I say “attempting” because it was pathetic. This is something he will have to improve on if he is to throw future fights, which he will do again since he is under the umbrella of fighters who are part of that system. Look at his arms and hands and there positioning each time he got knocked down. See any similarities? He knew he had to throw it in the first but didn’t know when, so each time he went down he mimicked the same cowardly signs until the final knock down where he finished by awkwardly lifting his leg in this ridiculous attempt to show he was done. I think the leg said it all. It was joke….one of the worst displays of circus I’ve seen by a paid-off UFC fighter.

There have already been plenty of fights that have fixed in the UFC (some of Liddell’s fights claim top prize among others). If you think Randy Couture or Wanderlei Silva have never thrown fights in the UFC…think again. There have been many fighters that have given in to this system. I been watching the UFC since its inception in the 1990’s and I can tell you with certainty that Fertittas and White have take the dark greedy path for some time now. They are completely manipulating fighters that will bend to there will and their directions of interest. It’s not difficult, especially when you have a system in place…all it takes is a few $$$ at the right age, most fighters will bend with a bit of convincing.

I was already quite convinced that Silva was going to win this fight….but NOT like that. Give me a break.

You can say whatever you want to say about dislocated jaws, or injuries etc, but the pretext of this fight was clear. Get it through your heads people, whenever there is a lot of money involved in any sport, ANY SPORT, it is inevitable that there will be rigged events. If you look at the history of sport, you will understand why professional sporting events (with any long-term existence) must be manipulated.

  48. Mike on August 9th, 2009 11:33 am

Hey, Joe. I listen to you carefully. I know you hated when MY MAN SILVA kicked yo’ boy Griffin’s donkey. Ha, ha. Stick to FEAR FACTOR…you talk but you know you wouldn’t get in that ring with Anderson Silva. He would kick you butt and shut your one-sided mouth for good.

  49. Joe on August 9th, 2009 11:44 am

Hey mike, ill agree with you on 1 thing i would never dare step in the ring with the spider I’m no professional making 500,000 a fight, but i dont hate the guy, i thought he would of won anyway, I’m just saying forrest should have given a better fight. I cant hate hate a fighter thats so humble in anderson silva.

  50. MMAfan on August 9th, 2009 11:47 am

Seems to me some people can’t just take it for what its worth…Aderson Silva won the fight BECAUSE he is an amazing fighter. Yes Forrest is a great fighter as well and fights with all he is worth, he can take a licking and keep on ticking. But to say this fight was rigged and compare this sport to WWE is a pretty lame comparison. Most of these fighters would beg to differ on such a worthless statment being said about something they live and breathe to do. So hey if that makes you sleep better at night to say the fight was rigged then … happy dreaming!

  51. Caio on August 9th, 2009 11:57 am

it is incredible to see that there a lot of stupid guys leaving a comment!!!!!this fight was fixed????? what’s the reason??? why a good fighter like Forrest would throw away his career???? shut up with these bull****s!!!!!!

Anderson is the best fighter and proved it one more time!!!! The best pound for pound, and in my opinion he could be a Light Heavyweight Champion as well if he wants!!!!

  52. Chuck on August 9th, 2009 11:59 am

SOOOOOO Rigged! dana’s got some explaining to do!

  53. MMAfan on August 9th, 2009 12:12 pm

FYI: ANDERSON WON & Forrest Lost …. nuff said!

  54. BlackDuck20 on August 9th, 2009 12:32 pm

Don’t know.. Don’t care.. I’m here cause my hubby is saying it was fixed and wants me to find info. My thought is.. if they were gonna “fix” the fight… why wouldn’t they at least make the KO believable. According to the hubby.. Silva was in backward motion.. how much force can you get moving backwards?

  55. TimT on August 9th, 2009 12:39 pm

I must be a moron then cause I thought the fight could have been fixed. What do I know though? Only been watching fights for over 30 years.

People who think fights are not susceptible to fixing are naive. What I do know for sure is that Dana White is heavy handed in his dealings with UFC fighters. He tells them who to fight, how to fight, how to talk etc and doesn’t allow them to be themselves. Secondly, we know Dana White is a mouth piece who is difficult to get along with and often has emotional charged outbursts about what he does not like – disputes with many fighters over contracts etc. Combine those two traits (control freak with an emotional temperament) and you could have someone who is prepared to ‘fix’ fights in order to further the success of the UFC.

  56. sherdogsssss on August 9th, 2009 12:39 pm

we got ourselves a vnew light heavyweight prodigy

  57. JimBob on August 9th, 2009 12:40 pm

I’m sorry that most of the guys posting on here are probably around 15 to 25 and most likely have little to no worldly experience. I watched the fight many times. Silva is good, but forrest looked way slower than any fight I’ve seen him in. as if he was scared to hurt Silva if he connected with a punch. And terrible acting: flopping around on the ground. Now this is the part that most posters here will not understand: Corruption is a huge problem in the world, and it is often done by the most powerful people and companies of the world. Sadly, most of the population are undereducated in such matters and just write it off as “conspiracy theories”. This **** is real! If a billionaire says you through the fight or you never work in the biz or worse threaten you with something more…then most will give in. I hope the people posting here educate yourselves a bit more, there are a lot of terrible people out there and rigging elections, paying for protests and even rigging fights is a high possibility.

  58. JimBob on August 9th, 2009 12:47 pm

On another note I don’t believe that Anderson knew anything was up. Think about it this way people, if they can rig elections which determine the fate of the world at times, then a little spit in the eye like the UFC isn’t anything. Check forbes top 500. UFC is not anywhere close to these companies. Check the largest of these powerhouse companies, they make 50 to 100 times as much as the UFC can only dream of making.

    my .02 $

  59. balsis on August 9th, 2009 12:53 pm

Excellent points TimT and JimBob. Most of the time the fix is one-sided….the other fighter is in the blind. Also, to BlackDuck20, asking some of these fighters to fake a KO and make it believable is kind of like asking Steven Segal to give an academy winning performance in a movie. It just isn’t possible for some fighters. They’re not good at it, and it takes some good coaching to get it right. Some fighters are better than others, but judging from this forum alone, Forrest has clearly shown he has to improve his circus antics to convincingly make a fake knockdown look more realistic in the future. After all, there’s a lot more fixing of fights to be done in the UFC and we can’t have any more mishaps like this.

  60. matt on August 9th, 2009 12:55 pm

:shame on silva, friend , brother, mother, sister, whatever..if hes the so called p4p..theres no excuse why he shouldnt fight for lyotos title…its not fullhouse, its mma..kinda funny silva got fight of the night considering it didnt even go 2 rounds, yet florian n penn was a 4 round brawl, mostly in penns favor. Forrest is not the fighter we saw last night, he was a paid or bribed loser, and you wonder why he ran out…what would he have to say? “i was paid to lose to boost silva’s popularity.’ This fight, actually more like fake WWE match disgusts me, and any other MMA,and non front running silva fans…silva n lesnar are both worthless to me, silva should be a TNA wrestler..he cant box to save his life anyways, hence his 1-1 boxing record. Rashad Evans rocked forrest numerous times, and if you watch rashads interview, he said he was worried bc as he was punching him from the top, forrest was laughin back at him. I say rematch, or silva grows balls and fights machida…even rashad evans would take silva, evans vs machida was rigged too, it all plays in to dana whites raindeer games wit silva. absolutely disgusting and pathetic…

  61. Beep Beep on August 9th, 2009 1:04 pm

Looked kind of fake from my perspective. Reminded me of Liston vs. Ali (The Phantom Punch). After watching Assault in The Ring, I wonder how many guys have used drugs to boost 3rd and later round fight performance. Then, there is GSP and is WD.

Lets not forget the performance enhancing drug cheats.

GSP – Looks like he has a small case of gynocomastia

Brock – Looks like a roid cheat, and acts like one.

    Sherk -Tested positive.

    Tim Silvia – Tested positive.

Too many more suspects to list. Hughes, Penn (recently), James Irvin, Houston, Wanderlei SIlva, Tito, Shamrock brothers, Couture, Coleman, Kemo, and the rest of the pumped up dudes.

  62. Saul on August 9th, 2009 1:09 pm

WOW! Silvia is like the Bruce Lee of real life. Not good looking Griffin runing after th KO, be a man and stay, that hapend when you are over rated.

  63. pantera_69 on August 9th, 2009 1:11 pm

i love em both and htought silva would win but! BUT!! that was just **** bottom line i cant belive that was real like fuk man just watch it..but then again the more i do the more things look a little dif like he was getiin madder n mader n tryn so hard just throwin huge bombs with all his wieght n a temper is the last thing you want in the cage

  64. Bla on August 9th, 2009 1:26 pm

This is what I’ve been talking to people all this time, Silva was first time fighting somebody with his range and heigth and since Dana knew his Anderson Silva could very easily lose, he fixed the match with Forest….

Everybody knows it was fixed, its so obvious, its not even worthy of talk….

  65. cam the great on August 9th, 2009 1:32 pm

being the same hight and having the same range is not the same thing as skill. If you are going to say that the forrest griffin match was rigged; then you must also think the james irvin fight was rigged, travis lutor(spell check?), dan henderson, rich franklin 1&2 were all rigged, because he made them all look bad. Just accept that silva is the p4p king, he is better than griffin. Deal with it

  66. Heidi on August 9th, 2009 1:39 pm

I don’t care what anyone says – that fight was rigged. And it wasn’t just Forrest acting all weird. Even Silva was acting out of character. Usually when Silva hits a guy and the guy falters, Silva climbs all over them to finish them off. That didn’t happen. I think this was a huge ploy with lots of people involved. My reasoning? The commentators didn’t even mention the fact that Forrest Griffin ran out of there like that. Why didn’t they say anything about it? The reason is because they already knew that it was going to happen. I’m so ticked off with this whole fight! I paid good money to see a great fight between two of my favorite fighters and what did I get? CRAP! I will probably never order another pay-per-view fight for the UFC again. What a crock!! At least BJ Penn and Kenny Florian offered an awesome fight! As for Forrest and Silva – I’m so disappointed! What a bunch of fakes!

  67. cam the great on August 9th, 2009 1:45 pm

and silva broke griffins jaw and he couldnt hear out of one ear, he went to the hospital when he ran out of the cage. He was clearly nervous the entire fight, seeing as he was fighting the p4p king, he didnt want to rush in and get knocked out. He was hurt after the second knock down. It was obvious by looking at his punches, he was swinging his arms wildly out of desperation. Silva knocked him out just like liddell has done many times in his career; while moving backwards and the opponent advances counter attack with precise aim.

you guys sound like the birthers claiming that obama isnt a citizen; you cant accept a loss. Silva didnt pounce on griffin because he wanted to stand up and give the crowd a show; like hes been criticized for not doing his past 2 fights.

  70. cam the great on August 9th, 2009 1:49 pm

no need to bring in races, it is funny how we both compared them to the birthers tho. Seriously, bringing in race adds nothing to the conversation but bias conflict

LOL whoever thinks this fight is rigged is an idiot, and knows jack **** about MMA. Forrest got rocked twice and was outclassed and bullied the whole fight. Anderson didnt even keep his guard up. so the third time he got his ass knocked out he knew it was just more punishment waiting, and if the reff hasnt stopped it anderson wouldve ground and pounded griffins ass to bits and pieces. So u griffin homers need to stop hatin, and take it like a man!

  88. Joe on August 9th, 2009 3:23 pm

Anderson silva and Gsp need to fight now, GSP will not want to stand up with silva because he will get killed, so GSP will look to take him down at will (which he is the king of doing that) and keep constantly doing so, in my opinion it would be a win by GSP by a decision.

  89. Richard on August 9th, 2009 3:24 pm

Ok, I think the fight was rigged, but I have a different reason. Silva is one of my favarite fighters, why because he is smart and knows when to let the beast out. I like Forest because he was, in my opinion the MMA’s Rocky. Do I believe he could get knock out, hell yes I have shut many so called bad MF mouths with a hit to the jaw. But I have fought MF who just did not know they were the walking unconscious also and Forest is the latter. Now one of the things I noticed was the fact that Silva looked like he was getting frustrated because Forest punches had no fire in them at all, they looked like sparing tags. Go back and look how Silva looked like he was pleeding with Forest to fight for real. Silva took a right from Forest and his head never moved from the impact, hence a sparring tag. Now Forest will take a punch, elbow, knee and just like Rocky keep coming at you. Silva knew this too and was looking for it. I saw this two times in the fight. I do not think that Silva knew anything about the fight being rigged, but about half-way into the fight I think he figured it out. After he tagged Forest he just let him be on the floor ignoring him completly. Forest was floundering around flailing his arms like he was expecting Silva to pounce on him, but Silva had no need to let the beast out. I think he figured out what was going on and I’ll bet he was pissed. I do think the UFC is directly involved and it pisses me off that we did not get the fight we all thought we would see. Now on the other hand I thought this fight would go the full 5 with Forest looking like he was road kill at the end but this was a farce as far as I am concern and if it was real then Forest should just become a bouncer in a bar because he embarassed himself and his fans, and even if he retrained for 2 years and begged for a rematch of Silva. I would not watch it, nor will I ever look at the UFC the same. I thought this sport was above this kind of crap. If it was not a throw, then the UFC needs it’s ass rimmed for letting Forest get in the ring with someone that by what I saw, if it was real could have let the beast out and endded Forest’s career right there.

  90. keepone2 on August 9th, 2009 3:41 pm

Well said Richard, Very good points, i feel bad for forest in that fight, but if this is true ive lost my respect for him, also i belive anderson had nothing to do with it, so you guys cant blame him either, Listen, anderson would have won anyway in my opinion, but forest should of give him a great fight, that was not the same forrest griffin that fought the likes of tito, shogun, and rampage, you guys have to admit that

  93. balsis on August 9th, 2009 3:51 pm

One last comment I’d like to make to those of us “in-the-know” and not off in dreamland.

Just in case you get frustrated by very ignorant comments and posts made in various MMA forums. Keep in mind that if you browse though enough forums on different websites, you’ll often see users who will defend (sometimes maliciously) against attacks on fixed fights, most times specifically regarding the UFC. Their claims are often ludicrous with little or no substance in their arguments. They often go off topic and try and pull people into different directions (sometimes racial or political) to elevate emotion and sway opinion. Sometimes they’ll even use the same username on different websites. Other times they will use different usernames on the same website and play the people who are posting comments against each other. I used to work for one these websites (a major mma site which shall remain anonymous). On a few posts, we logged 4 different usernames to the same IP. In those instances, three usernames (i.e 1, 2, 3) from that IP address were always aligning and bashing the other username (i.e. 4) who was aligned with most of the others on the post. Finally, username 4 ended up agreeing 1, 2, and 3 and others starting to change their opinions somewhat because of the intensity of the discussion. That post was specifically regarding the GSP-Serra fight. We could clearly see it was the same person using all four usernames trying to sway opinion by playing both sides. This person did this on several posts.

This is now apparently happening all the time on many MMA websites that have forums and even other websites that cater to other professional sports. So don’t get frustrated by other people’s posts. At that time, I found out from an inside source that the UFC and even state athletic commissions are paying online consultants, marketers, and professional bloggers to alter public perception if it is not favorable to their greedy causes. So the person you may be agreeing or disagreeing with on a forum, may actually be working for the UFC or the state athletic commisions as a paid blogger. The UFC also pays off the state athletic commissions who then decide if an athlete is to be caught using performance enhancing substances or not. That’s why so many of them get away with it for so long until the athletic commissions decide it’s time for them to be caught. The entire system is completely rigged and everybody is getting their cut, from the fighters, to the fight camps, the mma organizations and athletic commissions. It is literally run like a Mafia. Not all fighters are “in-the-know” and there are still many very legitimate fighters and match-ups arranged by every organization, including the UFC, otherwise they would lose all credibility. Until the day when those fighters are tired of training, getting injured or getting old….then they’re ready to be primed for fixed fights to catapult their career again. That’s why you rarely if ever see fixed fights on young ambitious talented kids in their early 20’s who really want to challenge and prove themselves. They always target the veterans with a lot of experience (and money makers). Look back at the UFC and you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about. It’s a lot of work to maintain an MMA empire like the UFC and guide the fans where they need to be guided to make the most money. So expect this to continue and be aware it is happening in every sport all over the world.

I would actually love to make a website exposing all the frauds of the UFC/SAC’s are currently responsible for in MMA. It would be sweet justice for all the true MMA fans they have ripped off in years past.

    fixedfights@ymail.com

I’ll only respond to those with educated comments.

  95. Balla on August 9th, 2009 4:04 pm

Honestly? you really think this was rigged. Forest is a good fighter and he looked like a **** after this fight. Even if it was rigged, NO WAY would forest agree to go down like that. Anderson Silva will hit you mock you and knock you the **** out. Anderson Silva could beat any person at any weight class, which kind of makes the UFC lame now. No matter who is fighting and who wins its still iike “anderson is better then them so why do i care” I would love to silva fight a professional boxer it would really show everyone who thought this was fixed that he CAN box and he IS that good. Anderson is light years ahead of Forest in MMA skill and every other fighter for that matter. He is the only one who has the head movement and quickness of a real boxer and the skills of BJJ and Muay Thai master. Besides Forest ran out of the ring because his jaw was broken and he lost hearing ability in one of his ears (how long for is unclear). Anderson is the p4p best fighter on the planet and will destroy anyone he fights. (however Lyota Vs Anderson would probably be a monster of a fight if they would agree to fight each other, although they said they wouldnt.)

i honestly cant believe the bs people will make up when things dont go their way. If you honestly think that forrest could have hung with silva, then you are incredibly delusional. Forrest looked the exact same he did in every other fight, except that he was visibly nervous. He was badly hurt on the second knock down; silva could have finished him on the ground, but he wanted to put on a show for the crowd. His final hit, was exactly what liddel always does. Stop making excuses because you didnt get what you wanted.

  98. James on August 9th, 2009 4:24 pm

Lol I dont know this could acutally be fake… Think about it Forrest got hit by Rampage Jackson clean and only got dropped not knocked out… Got hit by Rashad how many times like 20 before he finally lost to TKO. Anderson Silva what like 3 punches?? And Maybe the blood clot was true… but during the post fight interview they even asked Anderson what he thought about Griffin running out and he said “That’s up to him.”

  99. cam the great on August 9th, 2009 4:29 pm

what did you expect silva to say? that griffin is a giant baby for running off after getting whooped? No, silva is way to humble to do something like that. He lets people do what they do, and he does what he does best, he wins.

  104. Beep Beep on August 9th, 2009 5:15 pm

  106. Beep Beep on August 9th, 2009 5:23 pm

Why? Let me school you on this one. Because betting on the favorite in huge amounts is less suspicous than betting on the underdog at the last moment.

    Why is that less suspicious?
Because more people place money on the favorite. Gets lost in the shuffle, and it is expected. You can justify it: Sir, why did you place $500,000 on Silva? Answer: Duh, he the better fighter (as far as everybody thinks). Good enough. Enjoy your winnings, Sir.

Why do they place more money on the favorite? Don’t tell me you need someone to answer this one for you, again. Refer to the last question, AGAIN.

  108. OUTITAN on August 9th, 2009 5:27 pm

If you’ve read Forrest’s book “Got Fight” you know he worships Silva’s ability. I think this fight was over before they ever got in the ring. Forrest knew he was out classed and could only win by catching Silva with something crazy. When Silva put his hands down and just stood there and Forrest didn’t mangle him you knew it was over. Forrest stood there looking death in the eyes and knew fear. Read his book by the way, it is great. Funny as hell. You aren’t reading it to ‘learn’ to fight just read it to look into the mind of a buck wild red neck, you won’t be disappointed.

  109. fishstix on August 9th, 2009 5:28 pm

I don’t think it was rigged. Forrest extended his neck pretty far out for the punch when he got hit on the jaw. Try it yourself. Stick your neck out and see how easy it is to hurt your neck by tapping the jaw. I thinks that forrest was just too slow, silva too fast and the timing too unfortunate. Besides, he had been dropped twice. Probably wasnt fighting with his head completely clear back there… And if it was rigged, not much we can do about that to even prove it, is there?

  110. Mike on August 9th, 2009 5:34 pm

This was definitely a rigged fight. Forest didn’t even look prepared for the fight, someone show me where it says he was bleeding from the ear or anything, Forest has 2 of the top 10 fights in the UFC (the first fight being him winning the first Ultimate FIghter over Bonner and than his 5 round WAR with Rampage). This is such bull it’s not even funny. Rigged, I want evidence in the form of doctor visit showing supposed blood clots or something to prove otherwise.

  115. spiderforreal on August 9th, 2009 6:14 pm

Some of you make very good points about the fight possibly being rigged and Silva not knowing but come on! The problem is that many underestimate the power the Silva has which is why they are so stunned when they get hit. He was able to knock Griffen out because he had hurt him already and Griffen fully commited himself with that final combo that he attempted. Silva used a straight right in conjuction with Griffens own momentum, jarred his jaw and spine (which you clearly see in slow motion, who could fake the jarring of their spine?) and knocked him out. It’s physics and physiology folks. You can fall from standing and break your neck so what makes you think Griffen can’t be knocked out from a straight right while fully moving forward? Silva is a counter fighter, so brawlers will allow for the best show, which Griffen is. Griffen has heart, he’s strong but he’s slow and not a very skilled fighter, Silva is very technically skilled and elusive. Griffen new he was going to lose which is why he said you that he could be knocked out but not broken. He has to say that he believes he can win, otherwise, what’s the point of taking on the fight?

  116. Clayton on August 9th, 2009 6:24 pm

Richard, your claim that Silva got frustrated that Griffin was using training tags and didn’t jump on him after the knock down because he as so upset it was fixed… Did you see how happy Silva was when he won? He ran around the ring in happiness, climbed the fence, stood on top of it, and jumped off in celebration. Doesn’t look very upset to me…

The fight wasn’t fixed. In the countdown to UFC 101 Forrest said he may be beaten but he would never be broken. Unfortunately, he was. For the first minute, Forrest stalked Silva with confidence that he was the bigger man. Then Silva landed a right hook that may or may not have dislocated his jaw but defiantly broke his spirit. Forrest was then probably thinking about another comment he made in the countdown show, that Silva has dominated (and some feel humiliate) great fighters like Franklin and Henderson.

From then on, Forrest was no longer the aggressor. The much faster Silva now stalks the hurt, scared, and mentally broken Forrest and the outcome was all but finalized. And then it was.

  122. chris on August 9th, 2009 7:35 pm

Some of you guys are going off on Forrest having heart, Forrest not putting in a good effort, Forrest getting KO’d by a softie punch. Are you guys insane? If UFC could have it their way, they would have FORREST win. What benefit does the UFC get in having Forrest dive and Spider win? Wow, great, now Spider can beat the crap out of any other 205 pounder if he wants (except for Machida, who he won’t fight)….or come back down to 185 and dominate there. Spider might take on GSP, but the weight difference might be too great, so that fight might now happen. So back to the normal Spider-is-the-champ scenario. And since everyone would agree that Spider is a dominant fighter, PPV sales won’t be off the charts. Spider doesn’t bring any added marketing appeal, and he barely speaks English. Same old stuff as before. Great, great fighter…..but limited ability to bring in new fans. But if Forrest had won, UFC has their golden boy back. The hype machine is back….they can put him against the winner of Shogun and Machida….and the UFC would see insane PPV sales. Again, If it’s all about the money, all about PPV sales….then obviously, the UFC would have wanted Forrest to win. UFC needs their golden boys…..why do you think Rashad and Forrest were both champs recently? Again, if the UFC was involved in any rigging, then Forrest would have won.

And I cannot believe some of you guys think this fight was fixed. Why do you guys think so? Because you’re forrest fans and you thought he would put up a better fight? Give me a break. Forrest was never a great fighter. Great heart, but he was always a sloppy fighter. He got KO’d by Jardine…just demolished…he got KO’d by Rashad….again, had a weak guard and he got pummeled. He also lost to Tito, and got pummeled in the first round. Props to Forrest for his wars againt Bonnar…but Bonnar doesn’t have KO power, and he landed dozens of punches. Massive props to Forrest vs. Shogun, but Shogun’s health was questionable. And major props to Forrest for grinding it out against Rampage. But all Spider Silva needs is one punch. The fight was really over after the second knockdown…again, Forrest showed big-time heart….most guys wouldn’t have gotten up. Think about Silva vs. James Irvin….one punch, and Sandman was rocked. Spider’s fights vs. Franklin shows just how dangerous his strikes are. And remember Spider vs. Nate Marquardt….now, Marquardt is a top notch fighter….and all it took was that one punch from Spider, and he was done. Remember the Leben fight? Now Leben has a concrete head….the dude is simply tough to knock out. He showed just how tough he was vs. Spider Silva…..it took a few extra strikes from Spider to knock Leben out, but boy did he knock him out with style.

So guys, the fight wasn’t rigged. There’s no reason for the fight to be rigged in Spider’s favor. Forrest was nervous, he was tenative….yeah, that’s because Spider Silva has a very dangerous reputation. You think Forrest was going to go balls out, Bonnar-style, and start swinging wildly? Dude, he’s smarter than that…..he knew who he was fighting. And honestly, that $60k bonus is out there for a reason…..what do you think the UFC paid him to rig the fight? $100k? $200k? $50k? Again, there’s no reason for the fight to be rigged.

And yes, Forrest ran out because he had never been rocked so hard in his life. His jaw was f’d up. His corner saw blood coming out of his ear. It was a pretty brutal situation. And you guys think he ran away because he was ticked that he had to take a dive? Haha, insane.

  136. feng on August 9th, 2009 8:55 pm

Anderson can’t beat Lyoto cause Lyoto is unpredictable so anderson can’t examine him since it’ll be too late for anderson cause anderson would be knocked out already =) Also Anderson’s down fall against Lyoto is that he’ll stalk Lyoto through that match and of course everybody knows what happened to all the fighters who did that to Lyoto, they got beaten. Even if Anderson try to do Lyoto’s way in the match, look what happened to Rashad “KNOCK OUT.”

  137. RC C on August 9th, 2009 9:03 pm

wow, the people commenting on here saying they’ve seen forest get hit harder and didn’t go down obviously don’t know anything. it’s not only about how hard the hit is, it’s about where they get hit. silva hit him flush to his jaw at least 2 times, OF COURSE HE’S GONNA GO DOWN. he’s lucky to even have survived the first one, but Silva was landing way too clean and way too often. hardly anyone will be able to sustain that kind of punishment without gloves,.

  138. cammas on August 9th, 2009 9:27 pm

So many douchebags follow this sport now if you took the time to do the research you would find that forrest had his jaw disloctaed in a freak accident less then a minute into the fight hes running because they rushed him to hospital because his face was filling up with blood..

Hense why he said stop when hes on the ground because its intense pain not getting knocked out by a pathetic right hand like that forrest has taken thousands of harder hits then that probably in training.

Would be fairly epic if we see a re match and im hoping so pathetic turnout!!

  139. dean on August 9th, 2009 9:36 pm

I reall don’t think it was fixed at all.
I mean we’ve seen Silva destroy better fighters than Forrest such as Franklin.
Apparently Forrest was rushed to hospital as he had a dislocated jaw and hearing loss in one ear.
I think he was hurt badly by the first knock down and after that he was just hanging on.

The only person who can challenge Silva for p4p best is Lyoto Machida

  140. Joe on August 9th, 2009 9:36 pm

honestly that **** looked rigged…im not doubting anderson’s power but ive seen forrest fight and let me tell u, he can take a FN beating….and flush hit or not that **** looked rigged…and secondly forrest wouldnt leave the ring like that, he’s really humble…im pretty sure he would’ve apologize to the crowd for such a terrible performance….and i know im not the only one that feels that way.

  144. Hercules on August 9th, 2009 9:56 pm

Anderson Silva is by far one of the best fighters ever! I get it..I think we all do.

Forrest is a great fighter but Silva didn’t really knock him out because he was conscious to call out. He didn’t even win through submission. That doesn’t really seem like the Forrest I have always watched. Even though Forrest has lost before, he certainly did not call out like a little sissy ring girl like this one. Not even fighters that lost to Silva before cried out like that so I don’t expect anything less from a champion at heart, Forrest. Seriously, who gets jabbed without being knocked out and raises their hand up like a defenseless sissy? Who does that? Forrest called himself out before the referee did!!! That’s very unusual! Forrest has never performed like that. It leaves me thinking:

    a. Either the fight was rigged and a terrible acting part of Forrest’s behalf.
    b. Forrest must be on something

  145. Soup on August 9th, 2009 10:00 pm

This proves my point that most of the guys who what U.F.C. now are “bandwaggoners” ifyou recall Griffith did the same thing after he was K.O.’d by Jarrdine. Just like anything else please do your research before you open your mouth. He was completly outskilled and just got beat, just give the Spider is due!

  146. Hercules on August 9th, 2009 10:01 pm

actually I take it back. If Forrest was hanging on because of a broken jaw and the immense pain, it makes sense why he raised the white flag. Didn’t now that was the deal

For anyone who is treating these conspiracy theories with outright contempt just go take a look at forrest’s fight vs bonnar before you completely dismiss the idea. Then if your still questioning the credibility of such theories after watching that bloodbath, go online and watch his victory over shogun. The one thing you should notice about forrest through all his fights is that he can take a helluva a beating and still keep coming. The is the epitome of a man, someone who has displayed the heart of a lion time and time again. Finally once you have fully come to terms with the fact that this man is probably the toughest man in the ufc, rewatch the fight with silva. He was punched like four times by silva, and was knocked down by jabs which were nothing short of pedestrian. To cap it all off Forrest loses by falling down and holding his hands up in defeat. This can’t possibly be the same guy who persevered against bonnar despite gushing blood all over his face. Now im not saying that i absolutely believe it was thrown, all i no is that something defiinately did feel a little off about the whole fight and it certainly should not be dismissed. lol and on a side note i no anderson silva is an amazing fighter but that keanu reeves matrix **** was out of control

  150. Tellit Likitis on August 9th, 2009 10:18 pm

People are so brainwashed it’s scary.

The UFC ignores lots of fighters to keep their idols at the top. This fight looked so fake it was laughable. Forrest was told to go out there and get walloped and drop, but he isn’t a good enough actor to make it appear convincing.

GSP is far better all-around than Anderson. Too bad he’s so small compared to Silva who actually walks around over 200 between fights. Then again, Fedor and others could wade through the best the UFC has with little trouble. But White and crew take care to avoid those fighters.

  151. come on.... on August 9th, 2009 10:18 pm

Anderson Silva is a beast no doubt, and I feel he would have beaten Griffin anyway……but……. I am starting to question the integrity of the sport…..recently there have been some fights that sure as hell look like a fix is in… Again, I think Silva would have won regardless, but either A. someone had loaded gloves, or B. someone took a dive.

as far as someone mentioned a broken jaw? either it was broken before the fight, or like i said, check those gloves. there wasn’t a violent punch landed by either guy (certainly nothing to break any bones)

i have to agree with joe, that was one of the most embarassing KO’s i have ever seen . . .
i’m not taking anything away from forrest, forrest is a good fighter with some skill and a lot of heart(maybe too much for his own good), a good entertainer who likes to please the crowd that is why maybe he fights like how he fights . . .
but that’s not what wins fights, becoz everyone in the ufc has those goods,u have to come up with something better . .
u have to be technical and use ur head study and feel out ur opponent and wait for the right moment when to explode . . .
that is why fighters like silva and machida are very successful in the ufc . . .

I wonder if they don’t have special gloves that hit harder. Put something in there that squishes like padding, but doesn’t compress as easily on impact. Ever get hit with a sandbag. Well, I hit someone else with a sandbag, and they said it felt like a stone. Put some sand or putty in the gloves. Maybe steel wool does something different.

  158. openYOUReyes on August 9th, 2009 11:28 pm

Of course it was FIXED!! It’s very easy to understand why Dana White would want Griffin to take the fall. I mean DUH. He’s already their fallboy so what’s one more loss on his record. He’s already lost enough times to lesser competition in the UFC (Jardine, Evans, Ortiz) so it doesn’t come as that big a shock to people when he loses yet again to one of the best fighters in the world. Yet he’s popular enough and knows how to promote himself well to make a good pre-show for his huge fan base. Come man….open your eyes.

Silva on the other hand has not lost. He is the star. And he needs to keep winning by knockout to keep being the star and this reputation. It’s not Rocket Science man…it’s simple business tactics. They need to continue pumping him up for the next fight or a mega fight soon to come. Since he’s had below average performances his last two fights (Cote, Leites), many fans were starting to become very skeptical and frustrated with him and his ability to keep performing. He lost steam. This was obvious throughout the internet. This was a must win for him by knockout in the first round. It was 100% fixed….no doubt .

Holy crap, if you have to keep making all these excuses of why he did what he did for falling, or punching like a girl, dislocating his jaw, or running away after the fight, you cannot face the facts. Forest Griffin would fight with a broken arm, face and jaw and would still smile at his opponent when getting hit. That’s just who he is. This was so out of character for him as a fighter it was like the twilight zone. Yes Silva is a better fighter, yes Silva should of won anyway despite this faker, but that doesn’t mean it was not fixed. It’s all about making the fight spectacular with the most exciting finish. That is what sells a fighter. That is what will sell Silva in the future and the UFC knows it. Wake up and see this for what it is.

Fedor Emelianenko is the best until Anderson Silva fights him!

  162. drew down on August 10th, 2009 12:17 am

Ok you folks do know the whole dislocated jaw crap is a fake internet rumor right? Because legal reasons he would have immediately been seen by the ringside doctor and taken to the the hospital. Nobody checked him out and said his jaw and ear were hurt. He got up and ran so he wouldn’t be seen crying on camera again. If it had happened before the fight his face would have been severly swollen and the fight would have been scrapped. One of the greatest fighters on the planet beating an entertaing and popular but not so great, mediocre fighter is rigged? Griffin is no where in the same league as Silva. It easy to that Griffin was still out of it from the previous hits. And if you guys are the so called, hardcore, in the know fans then you have seen many fighters get knocked by another fighter moving back. (Half the Chuck fights) plus Griffin ran into it like Hatton did with PBF. Hatton even said that they weren’t the hardest punches but they were very well placed punches. That’s what makes them so effective. All ko’s don’t have to be haymakers. When the neck and spine are jarred (watch the slo mo) and the brain is rattled in the skull, the lights go out. You guys say that Lesnars antics are a disgrace to mma. I say coming on these sights seeing so called hardcore fans crying because your guy lost to a waaaaaaaaaaaay better fighter as a serious disgrace to true mma fans.

  163. O-man on August 10th, 2009 12:20 am

thats was a fixed fight, there is no way that a little punch like that would knock him out. i know silva is a great fighter and i dont take anything away from him, but that didnt look real at all. forrest is a legit fighter that has taken way more punishment in fights and im not seeing how that would have knocked him out.

  168. Chico on August 10th, 2009 2:20 am

I am a huge huge Anderson Silva fan and it breaks my heart to admit it, but that fight seemed totally fake to me. Didn’t it? I’m going to watch some older Forrest fights to see how he normally starts out but it seemed like he was shadow boxing.

  169. ShallowFans on August 10th, 2009 2:34 am

all the griffin fans say that it was fixed because they just cant accept the fact that he was beaten down so badly and to silva’s credit without exerting much effort. Forest griffin is damn over rated! hes outclassed and not even close to silvas league. the first to knockdowns dazed him so bad that the final blow wasnt really the cause of his knockout. you so called expert fans who thought it was a fixed match is what making forrest look bad.

  173. Mikem on August 10th, 2009 6:32 am

All of you ***s claiming you’ve been watching so long and have so much knowledge and you know it was a fix sound pretty stupid. I know you guys have been watching for 30 years and know everything.. but allow me to shed some light on you incredibly knowledgable fans.

    A. Stop acting like Forrest has an iron chin because he didn’t get knocked out by Stephan Bonnar like 5 years ago. Yeah it was a great fight and it was a war but it’s not the only fight Forrest has been in. He got knocked silly by Jardine’s arm punch, and he got knocked out cold until he was flopping around on the ground by Rashad while Rashad was in his full guard. Forrest is not made of steel, if anything he has a questionable chin.

    B. Go back and watch some of Silvas fights. Silva puts guys like Marquardt, Irvan, and Leben down with jabs and straights. His punches don’t look incredibly powerful but his technique and accuracy make them devistating. Also if you watch the fight forrest got dropped and rocked several times and as Joe Rogan pointed out the last shot was just icing on the cake.

    C. Why would anyone want to fix this fight? You don’t need to rig a fight between forrest and silva for silva to win. Everyone already knew silva was going to crush him, everyone was already betting on silva. You don’t rig fights for the favorite to win that’s ***ed.

    D. Forrest suffered a broken jaw and partial hearing loss from the fight. He obviously got hit pretty damn hard.

Shut up and stop crying fake when you guys have no idea what you’re talking about.

  174. Vincent on August 10th, 2009 7:19 am

After the fight, Griffin was immediately taken to the hospital, forgoing the post-fight interview, as he had suffered a dislocated jaw and hearing loss during the fight.
people who said it was fix know absolutely nothing about MMA or the skills of the spider anderson silva.

  175. Mikem on August 10th, 2009 7:30 am

Also.. watch Vernon White vs Chuck Liddell, or Cro Cop vs Sapp, or Kimbo vs Seth (even though I know a lot of you ***s think that was a fix too).. and I’m sure there are plenty of other examples of fighters getting put down by shots that don’t look incredibly powerful.

Cro Cop barely hit Sapp, who is an enormous man, with a jab or a straight WITH boxing gloves on and Sapp hit the ground crying. Was that a fix? No it was a broken orbital bone from a punch that appeared to be weak to those of us watching from the couch. You can’t judge these things from your couch or barstool, so don’t go around making baseless accusations and tarnishing the fighters and the sport.

  176. Kyle on August 10th, 2009 7:42 am

Well Forrest Griffin’s team just came out and said he sustained no injuries. Nothing happened to him. That was the most set-up fight I’ve ever seen. All of you are so far up Anderson’s ass that you can’t see the light of day. He’s washed-up, and overrated. I hope he stays in light heavyweight so Rampage can beat him senseless. Good day.

  177. Kyle on August 10th, 2009 7:44 am

PS: He took 16 shots to the head from Rashad Evans. I doubt two to the head from Silva is anything compared to that.

If you think … ACTUALY THINK , forest threw it? you’re a **** idiot … Forest had a dislocated jaw , deaf in his left ear from andersons first hook , couldnt land a *****punch and was joked with for the whole fight . got rocked a few times and he tried to fight threw but after another punch to his jaw he knew he was done . Google it and learn the facts , FORREST’s CAMP and team / coach , stated that he went to the hospital as soon as he ran out , . and he lost terminal hearing in his left ear , and had a dislocated jaw . REST my case . p4p best fighter in the world anderson silva ,so many people said oohh griffin can do this and that , and he has a chance , and look what happend. Lyoto machida only person who would be able to fight him . and even then i dont know but i would love to watch it.

  179. RiggedMyA$$ on August 10th, 2009 9:13 am

Whoever says this is rigged is probably freaking drunk rednecks half watching these ppvs still thinking tito ortiz is the best in the octagon. UFC is pulling millions every ppv why would they throw a fight to make the best P4P fighter win…you people are morons. Forest got his A handed to him by Keith Jardine (are you kidding me?) Keith Jardine beat him up…of course Anderson Silva will walk through him…………..oh but forrest has taken harder punches…….knockouts dont take tons of strength they come from accuracy and AS is the best at that and strength……..Ive never seen Rich Franklin dominated from other opponents but the Voodoo clinch and accuracy made it easy……all of you theorist need to sober up next month and actually start watching the fights!!!

  180. Mikem on August 10th, 2009 9:26 am

PS: He took 16 shots to the head from Rashad Evans. I doubt two to the head from Silva is anything compared to that.

Bull****. It took 2-3 punches and Forrest had no idea where he was. I just watched it. He took some shots before that but had plenty of time to recover as they struggled on the ground. Then it was about 2 punchs and he was out of it, 1 more and he was ko’d, then a bunch more but he was already out after the 3rd.

    What about Jardine?

What about all the other people Silva has devistated with seemingly weak punches?

Who stands to gain by a rigged fight that Forrest had no chance of winning to begin with? Why take the risk? Where’s the money to be made? The ufc’s poster boy just got made out to be a little ****. Everyone was already betting on Silva, you don’t make money by rigging a fight so that the favorite wins.

The bottom line is that Silva hits a lot harder than it looks like he does and he has the precision to make them count, and Forrest doesn’t have the iron chin that everyone seems to think he has. I never understood why anyone would make that claim about forrest after the Jardine fight.

  181. Blackhawk on August 10th, 2009 10:04 am

Rigged? I don’t think so but not impossible. Yet what was in it other than money for someone if this fight was rigged? Nothing. Watch again and notice the 2 shot that knock Forrest down…nasty shots that he takes. He went to the hospital after the fight complaining that he couldn’t hear out of his ear and that his jaw was jacked up. Makes since that when he ran into that straight jab the last time that he wanted no more of what Anderson had to offer.

If there were a title belt on the line OR if the underdog had won this fight then maybe I could buy the fix being in. But those who bet that could stand to gain on this would have to bet on the person that would make you the most money…Forrest was not that guy. Overwhleming majority of folks bet on Anderson….can’t make major money on the favorite. Unless of course you bet major money but again if you bet large amounts on the underdog then you would make tons more than betting on the favorite…..big paragrah to say – I doubt it was fixed!

C’mon, Forrest has never been the best of fighters, he has had a world of heart though. He got creamed by Keith Jardine, and you think its fixed when Silva just toys with him and KO’s his ass? Get a life people, anyone betting on Forrest was an idiot. Silva is in another league than Griffin and most other fighters.

Good luck with your “fixed” conspiracy theories. And if I were Forrest, this is the first time he had ever been embarrassed in a fight and pretty sure that’s why he went running out. He is a proud man and fighter.

  185. josh on August 10th, 2009 12:35 pm

ok silva 100% set up griffin here…. silva didnt throw anything really at the start he watched and timed griffin… then when griffin tried his 3 punch combo again silva knew the timeing and got him-.- silva saidf lets go? why didnt he go at griffin? his game plan worked 100% griffin fell into a trap that got him.

  186. Capoeiraike on August 10th, 2009 1:00 pm

people who think this was rigged are idiots. Why would you fix a fight to have the 4-1 underdog lose? Makes no sense from a betting standpoint. people fix fights to have the underdog win. The only possible thing to gain from a fix in that manner would be to have Silva’s popularity rise, but if that was the case it would have made more sense to fix it so forrest wins. if Forrest wins, his stock and popularity would shoot through the roof making forrest a bigger draw than Silva is currently. Being known as the only guy in UFC history to defeat the spider would easily put him in immediate title contention plus if the 4-1 favorite were to take a dive there would be so much money made. If Dana was in the fight fixing buisness he would have done it this way, then put a cool 25 mil on griffin and collected 100 mil at the end. Plus we have seen people get knocked out with less devastating punches than that. Look at gabe gonzaga vs shane carwin, Liddell vs vernon reid, and lesnar vs cotoure. All ended with so called phantom punches, not to mention griffin was knocked down 3 total times. get over it, forrest got dominated and may have been injured. Blood from the ear and loss of hearing sounds pretty serious to me, and if it were me I would be freaking out trying as quickly as i could to get to a hospital, I certainly wouldn’t be concerned with a post fight interview if I thought I might be going deaf. Wake up people THIS WAS NOT A FIX!!!!!!!!!

**** silva. i mean he is a really good fighter and all but theres just something about him that i dont like. i wanted forrest to win this fight so badly and silva makes him look like he doesnt kno how to fight. silva is a good fighter but hes bound for an assbeating by someone real soon. i think it was a big upset and i want to see a rematch.

  188. Jacob on August 10th, 2009 1:15 pm

To all you ***s saying the fight was rigged, you guys are serious the biggest dumbass’s in the world!! Yeah a Multi-million dollar company is gonna rigg a fight…and the under dogs don’t throw fights either cuz nobody bets on them to win anyways, so it would be pointless. Anderson is the best fighter in the world. Im sorry to say but Forrest is not a top fighter..he isnt even in the top 10 in the divison. And thats what elite fighters do to average fighters. Silva is the Ali/Roy Jones jr. of MMA!!!

  189. colton34 on August 10th, 2009 1:18 pm

yes forrest got knocked down twice before an he was hurt but there is no way anderson has that much power im not sayin it was rigged but i smell a rematch an if forrest goes in with the right mind set dont think silve will man handle him he might win but dont count forrest out we have all seen forrest get beat way worse he did not go to the e.r. he was in the post match interview if he was needing to go to the e.r. why would he be there?

  190. Jacob on August 10th, 2009 1:43 pm

Machida and Silva won’t fight cuz they’re friends!! I’ve been watching MMA for about 15 years and im a HUGE fedor fan. But Anderson Silva is pound for pound the best in the world right now!! Fedor was consider the best for the last 5 years but he hasnt had a significant fight since Antonio Nogueira in 2004. Sorry but Arloksi and Slyvia aren’t top heavyweight fighters! Top 5 Pound for pound fighters 1. Anderson Silva 2. Fedor. 3. St. Pierre 4. Miguel Torres(even with yesterdays lost) 5. BJ Penn

  191. Lawrence M on August 10th, 2009 2:01 pm

Bring on George St Pierre if he is so tough everyone was saying Griffin would own Silva didn’t happen so come on St Pierre so Silva can own you too this dude don’t just win he makes his opponents look bad in the process St Pierre was asked about a fight with Silva in UFC 100 by Joe Rogan if you noticed he never answered the question of whether he would fight Silva cause he is smart why take a beating when you don’t have to…St Pierre P4P best fighter in the world what are you people watching Silva P4P Champ and thats undisputed!!

  192. bsfight on August 10th, 2009 2:51 pm

That fight was bs. And all of you talking **** about Forrest Griffin are idiots. You need to go watch his previous fights. I don’t know what the hell was going on, but there is no way in hell Silva out classes Griffin, especially not as bad as it looked in this fight.

And for Silva, I saw no reason for celebration in this fight. He should know better than anybody that wasn’t a real Griffin fight.

  193. Lawrence M on August 10th, 2009 2:57 pm

Why is it always a conspiracy when the guy you are rooting for get beat badly oh it had to be rigged my guy’s a better fighter then he showed himself to be in the fight did you ever think that maybe he was just truely out of his league with Anderson Silva just a thought just a thought…lol Brock Lesnar where you at I would like Silva to tear you a new ass hole too then it would really be talk of the fight being rigged…lol… So bring on the next (Great White Hope)

  194. bsfight on August 10th, 2009 3:00 pm

Say what you want but when is the last time you saw Griffin get knocked down, and throw his hands up in surrender, then run from the ring. I’m not saying it was rigged, but something definitely wasn’t right.

    MOST EMBARRASING KO EVER SEEN!

  197. Michael Rush on August 10th, 2009 3:29 pm

Ok guys! Here’s the deal. You guys that say the fight was fixed, listen up! You think that by seeing Forrest Griffin, (who I think is a very good and improving fighter with a lot of heart), win over other guys of lesser skill, talent or like shogun, just are’nt what they used to be, if you think that you can use those as a benchmark, you’re just ignorant to fighting. Most of you probably never fought regularly if at all or did’nt fight against anybody good. Listen up! If the best or one of the best college teams played the best or one of the best pro teams who would win? See, you don’t even need me to answer that for you. That’s what happened in this fight. Silva is a very skilled practictioner of the mixed martial arts. It’s not just his striking or his movement or his ability to swallow up the aggression and techniques of others. It’s all those combined coupled with his knowledge of movement and his mind in general. Only Machida is in his league in this regard. He actually was merciful on Forrest. Some of you will disagree, but you just don’t know fighting! There are some bad dudes out here, with stuff you ain’t never seen! Anderson Silva just happens to be one of them!

  198. Michael Rush on August 10th, 2009 3:38 pm

BTW, There are currently 3 elite fighters in the UFC. They are Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, and Georges St. Pierre. After that there’s a drop off, due to either age, wear and tear, or just lack of ability! Fedor, not in the UFC, has to be put in this class as well. I hate these popularity contests that go on between men who have a love-fest going on with this fighter or that fighter! I just see skill and ability and there’s your list! Read it and weep! Eventually, these guys will either lose due to someone better showing up, age, injury, or they’ll retire before any of these takes place. It’s a grueling sport. You can’t stay on top forever. But right now, they’re the best!

  199. aaron on August 10th, 2009 3:40 pm

Really? just because your boy Griffin got mauled in sucha spectacular fashion your gonna try and push the theory that it was rigged? did you see the first two knockdowns? he was all types of *****up and psyched out after them. Then the last shot if you actually ****** watched it you morons, was RIGHT on the button whether it was a retreating jab or not. Not to mention TWO of my best friends were at the fight and the reason he ran out was because of a jaw injury. Listen to Joe Rogan after the fight when he said u can tell he was hurt after the first two knockdowns because of how he kept looking up at the clock. he got beat now get the ****over it HATERS….

  211. MMA Expert on August 11th, 2009 12:48 am

Anyone who thinks that was fixed is either an American in denial, or a legally blind man. Silva is on another level techincally to any fighter out there.

That was the best skill Ive seen in the UFC.

I mean cmon, you all know that Griffin’s strength was his chin as he was never that great at finishing fights.

He’s 30 years old now, already been champ and has lost a bit of hunger. On a recent interview I heard him saying he doesn’t like to get hit as much anymore, and would instead prefer to be more clinical.

He did get KO’d by the Dean of Mean afterall..

As for Silva, well he’s just a ninja, like the guy from the Matrix lol.

    WWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEE

  218. iknowall on August 11th, 2009 7:39 am

The fight was rigged, if you have ever watched UFC you would know it was rigged. Forrest Griffon holds the belt for the BEST UFC FIGHT EVER. He doesnt give up, he doesnt get KO’d, and he sure as hell doesnt get knocked down by those “punches”.

You think this is the first rigged fight? Common give your head a shake, its a business. Take a look back at even UFC 100. You think that Japanese fighter won that first fight of the night? HAHA, hell no, he was awful. But, he won, why?? Because its a business, and bringing in a fighter from Japan only does 1 thing, sparks intrest over there and brings in more $ to the UFC. If he loses from a decision he probley wont fight in the UFC again, but if he can win the first hes coming back for more…

The UFC was bought for approx. 5 million dollars years ago, its worth 1.5 billion now, why?? You shouldnt even be asking why, because its a business and you do whats best for the business.

“Forrest, you lose this fight, we will give you a rematch and the winner of that gets the title shot.”

Silva loses, he drops back down a weight class and where is all the fun if the best fighters of each weight class are not fighting eachother? Thats right, now go back and watch ultimate fighter where Griffon wins in the grueling 5 rounds of blood and madness. That is a real fight, uneffected by Dana White.

  219. bryan on August 11th, 2009 9:00 am

Saying the fight was fixed is a joke… Why would UFC have one of their big name Fighters lose… ?Forrest brings in more money then Silva durring a PPV Fight. UFC has been trying to make Forrest their Golden Boy ever since they gave him a win aginst Stephen Bonnar. Forrest lost that match and should of never been handed the belt after the Jackson fight. he also got worked by Evans… face it he isnt as good as the UFC tries to make him seem. forrest was a 4 to 1 underdog. Got rocked hard on the first knock down and tried to fight trough it. got rocked 2 more times and gave up!

and yes forrest has never givin up like that, but he also never had to fight Silva.
Get of the Forrest Train its Silva’s time!

People used to say Ali’s fights were fixed too, cuz he would knock people out with Jabs.
Now he’s known as the greatest!

  221. joemama on August 11th, 2009 9:59 am

BROKEN JAW not fixed. get your facts straight.

Anderson broke Forrest’s Jaw when he knocked him down the first time! Forrest tried to stay in it and fight, but after getting cracked several more times in the jaw and knocked down 2 more times. he wasnt knocked out, Forrest just gave up. and i dont blame him!

if you think it was fixed then you dont know anything about UFC or MMA

  222. RiggedMyA$$ on August 11th, 2009 11:22 am

As much as the reality show TUF has done for the UFC it has made people think that the people winning these shows are the best in the world, but in REALITY they are just fighting other up and comers, i think other than Diego Sanchez all of the TUF winners are way lower level fighters than other UFC well knowns.
Look at K-flo….. good fighter but just not in the same league as guys like BJ and Sherk…..What would GSP do with K- FLo? OMG he killed Kenny!!!

Forrest is a great asset to MMA, one of the best fighters to come off TUF but Anderson is a bad A trained warrior that knows how to put out the lights…….how many people do you see that can hold someone as bad as rich franklin in a muay thai clinch so that he cant get out? Nobody else can. Who else put Leben down?

The fact that Anderson is being compared to the same knock out ability as keith jardine is absurd.

again i plead that all of you idiots start sobering up and actually watch the fights

  223. Not Convinced on August 11th, 2009 11:46 am

Anderson Silva is a great fighter. However, I find it hard to believe that Forrest was so easily beaten. The last punch (per the replay) clearly shows a punch that hit Forrest on the cheek and wasn’t even followed through; a partial-half ass punch at best. Forrest has a great chin and has taken hits from the hardest punchers out there like Rampage. While one of the punches Anderson landed may have stunned/hurt Forrest, I don’t think the last punch was enough to have Forrest lay on the floor and dramatically look as though he was run over by a truck. Plenty of other fighters have not run out of the ring when they were hurt severely. This fight is not enough to convince me Silva is going to dominate the light heavyweight division.

Something went wrong here and I can’t say whether it was fixed or not. All I can say is, people who are willing to not take results at face value are MMA fans.
Is boxing fixed? I think we can all agree some fights are. Is MMA fixed? I would love to think not, but the bigger it becomes, the more likely it could become like boxing.

  224. ufcgirl on August 11th, 2009 12:49 pm

I’ve never been crazy about Forrest, and although I personally find him more interesting to watch than some, I expected Silva to win. This being said, something was just not right about Griffin on Saturday. I won’t get into the whole fixed/not fixed argument since some people are so hateful about it, but I will be interested in hearing what his explanation is for the uncharacteristic behavior. I don’t think he’s the most wonderful fighter, but in no way did the Forrest that entered the Octagon at all resemble the Forrest I’ve seen in his previous bouts. It was just SUCH a bizarre fight…

  225. LVfightfan on August 11th, 2009 3:10 pm

Just face it Americans, you’re fighters have no technique, and are 2nd rate at best. They just rely on size and boring wrestling. That will only get you so far.

0 Americans in top 5 PFP rankings says it all!!

  231. Really? on August 12th, 2009 1:16 am

2 words Flash Knockout. It happens. Forrest got hit with a good few punches and got knocked out by a punch that he wasn’t expecting from an angle he wasn’t expecting from Silva backing up. It’s not rocket science here people.

And btw, the fix BS is just that. Forrest was scared ****less and intimidated by Silva, outclassed and walked over.

  232. soNOTfixed on August 12th, 2009 8:33 am

you dont fix fights for favorites. only for the underdog. thats the only way people who fix fights make money. UFC has nothing to gain out of this cuz Machida vs Silva will never happen. they are friends and said they wont fight.

  233. Earniep on August 12th, 2009 6:20 pm

    Put your egos aside.
Just honestly watch the fight and tell me ONE time when Forrest actually tried to hit Silva?
He did everything he could NOT to hit him.
Just watch the fight, look at the ‘air’ punches thrown by Forrest, the pathetic weak kicks, the patty-cake punches.
Those punches that ‘floored’ Forrest would not have bothered my little sister.

This fight was fixed, how many others were also?

whether you thought anderson would win or forest would win, it doesn’t matter. if you’ve been watching mma for years and you saw how this fight went down it just didn’t feel right in my gut. i didn’t like it. it’s not that i wasn’t happy with the results, i didn’t really care who won, something just wasn’t right with the whole thing. bleh.

  239. Mikem on August 14th, 2009 12:20 pm

I could make a very long compilation video of fighters taking repeated power shots to the head and not even getting dazed, and then being dropped out cold by a weak punch in a different fight. Josh Koschek anyone?? Did anyone think that the brutal shots Thiago Alves hit him with looked weaker than the punch from Paulo Thiago? What about Liddell putting away Vernon White with a weak ass punch while he back peddled? Kimbo?

It’s anatomy and physics people. You can’t just be a nonfighter who has no real knowledge of the physics, anatomy, or the fight science behind it all and then go around screaming fix because “it didn’t look right to me” or “I’ve seen him take harder punches”. It’s like people arguing over the 911 attack saying “that just didn’t look right to me look at how the towers fell”, when meanwhile the real experts.. the structural engineers and sceintists.. are all in agreement of what happened and why.

That aside there’s also the logic factor. If you think logically there is no reason to believe it was fixed from a promotional or a betting stand point.. or any other. You don’t sacrifice a fan favorite and one of your “best” light heavyweights that eveyrone loves just to give a guy like Anderson another win.. he doesn’t need the help. Forrest was a 4-1 under dog in that fight you don’t fix a fight that A. everyone’s already betting on the Silva, and B. the Forrest had NO CHANCE to begin with. Forrest is a sloppy brawler fighting the most technical and precise striker in the entire game, he was doomed from the start.

It’s exactly like the Kimbo slice fight. Everyones saying that was a fix, but look what happened. Elitexc lost their poster boy and immediately the organization went bankrupt and folded. Kimbo lost all credibility and went from being a headliner to being inactive for a year. Kimbo hasn’t had a fight sense that loss, and was lucky enough to get a chance on TUF because of his marketablitiy and his fame.

If you just blindly believe that this was a fix because “it didn’t look right” to you, then I’m sorry but you are simply ignorant and have no knowledge that a person making that claim would need to be taken seriously. There is no reason and no evidence that this was a work. Anderson is simply that much better than Forrest, I don’t know why anyone is suprised I called this the moment the fight was announced.

  240. Mikem on August 14th, 2009 12:27 pm

And please.. stop comparing Forrest taking shots from Stephan Bonnar in a sloppy brawl 6 years ago to a fight with Anderson Silva, there is a world of difference between Anderson and every other opponent Forrest has fought. Here’s another little fun fact for you.. STEPHAN BONNAR HAS NEVER KNOCKED ANYONE OUT IN HIS ENTIRE MMA CAREER… EVER. He has two tko’s on his record and that’s it, which means the ref stopped it because the guy was taking a beating.. big difference from a KO.

  245. tgan on August 15th, 2009 5:33 pm

people calling this fight fixed are 13-yearolds hopping on the “it’s cool to be a conspiracy theorist” bandwagon, who have no idea what they’re actually talking about.
if you’d been “following MMA for 30 years” (i haven’t, but i have eyes…) then you wouldn’t have had any trouble seeing that on top of the knockdown punches Silva caught Griffin with, Silva also caught him with at least 3-5 other good shots to the face.
Presumably the people saying his jaw was dislocated and blood coming out of his ear and hearing loss are passing this on from a source that’s more accurate than forum ramblings of children.
With that in mind, consider this:
1)Griffin is nervous, maybe even scared – he’s fighting a man he has an enormous amount of respect for. He probably knows he’s outclassed going in.
    2) They throw a few shots at each other early to get a feel for each other. Silva catches Forrest big, early – bad for your confidence, and possibly already hurt badly
    3) More knockdown punches, and SEVERAL other solid blows in between. Forrest is caught looking at the clock – that means something’s wrong, that early in the round.
    4) Forrest throws a couple of VERY short fakes and Silva reads them perfectly – Forrest knows he probably won’t be able to catch him.
    5) In desperation, he tries to catch Silva with a big punch – runs right into a jab. BASIC PHYSICS. Forrest is moving towards the punch fast, Silva aims it perfectly, Forrest is already hurt, he can’t hear out of his right ear and he’s in excruciating pain.

I’d like to see you keep fighting.

  246. Matty on August 15th, 2009 8:21 pm

Ok, I wanted Silva to win, he has always been my favorite fighter, but when you idiots make fun of Griffin for running out of the ring, and say he doesn’t have heart you’re wrong. You might want to know why he did, his jaw was dislocated and it made him go temporarily deaf, he ran because he knew he needed medical attention, now I don’t know about you… but I would be scared ****less and wouldn’t keep fighting if I couldn’t hear. Don’t say **** unless you know the whole story.

tom line is this,I REPEAT, FORREST IS NOT A SKILLED TECH FIGHTER,HE IS A VERY GOOD BRAWLER AND GOOD AT TAKING HIT,SILVA NEW THAT HE WAS WAY OUT OF FORREST CLASS THATS WHY HE WAS SHAKING HIS HANDS SO MUCH AND TALKING TO HIM DURING THE FIGHT HE KNEW FORREST DIDNT HAVE THE TECH SKILLS TO FIGHT HIM,IM SURE SILVA HAS HAD HARDER SPARRING SESSIONS.FOREST IS A GOOD FIGHTER BUT HE IS NOT TECHNICAL AT ALL,AND HE WONT BEAT ANYONE WITH SHARP TECHNICAL SKILLS.REWATCH TEH FIGHT AND YOU CAN SEE HOW SILVA IS KIND OF COACHING FORRECT ON.FORREST CAN BEAT PEOPEL WHO ARE WILLING TO GO ALL OUT AND BRWAL.BUT A TECH FIGHT IS NOT FOR FORREST AT ALL.THEY ARE BOTH GREAT FIGHTERS IN THEIR OWN CLASS OF SKILL,BUT SILVAS SKILL SET IS FAR SUPERIOR TO FORREST.ANYONE CAN WATCH THIS FIGHT AND SEE SILVA IS FIGHTING LIKE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THEIR OPPONENT IS TOO SLOW AND AKWARD TO HURT THEM,HE WAS JUST WATING FOR FOREST TO GIVE UP A BAD ANGLE OR MAKE A MISTAKE.

LOL, you guys probably believe Bruce Lee beat Chuck Norris in a real fight ;-)

  250. sam on August 16th, 2009 2:54 pm

silva is a true mixed martial artist, every step he makes is calculated and fixed from practice. he is not just a fighter as many of these guys are.. thats why you see the outclassing so much

  251. sam on August 16th, 2009 2:56 pm

call me crazy but for a long time i thought forest had the best complete standup at 205.. this was very unexpected

  252. Mikem on August 18th, 2009 8:11 am

Sam, you are indeed crazy. It was pretty common knowledge that Forrest has never been a technical striker let alone “the best complete stand up” in that division. He has great leg kicks but apart from that like others have said he’s just a brawler. Think about it, Forrest didn’t come from some in depth kickboxing or boxing background like Silva or many other guys. Forrest was just an athletic guy that stumbled his way into fighting. He has been training for probably 6 or 7 years (right before ultimate fighter season 1 aired), while Silva probably doubles or triples his experience. It should have been no surprise to anyone that Forrest would get picked apart by a far superior striker like Silva.

  253. Eric on August 18th, 2009 3:30 pm

    Fixxed.
    No question about it..

  254. blackshinigami on August 19th, 2009 9:34 am

A.Silva’s P4P the best in the world and GSP is to scared to gain 10 lbs to fight him i mean come on he got knock out by matt serra. Lyoto M. is a very good fighter but hasn’t fought anyone as skilled as A.Silva and fedor’s not even worth mentioning until he fights brock lesnar.

  255. Earniep on August 19th, 2009 9:25 pm

I can just picture it now, …a rematch is scheduled to put an end to this ‘Fixed’ controversy.
    Forrest vs. Silva 2
The odds are astronomical! Forrest is the biggest underdog in MMA history.
Forrest wins by a knockout!!! who would have thought it?
Someone will make extremely big bucks on this one!

    Ticker-tape parades and condum sponsorship.
We love you Forrest, welcome back!

  256. JAY WILK on August 21st, 2009 7:48 pm

Lyota and Silva is where it needs to be! What a fight that would be.

  257. Juggernaut on August 21st, 2009 10:48 pm

Everyone knew Anderson Silva would’ve won anyways. He’s hot right now and the best pfp fighter ever. We get it. Dana White get’s it, UFC gets it, so it would be a great idea to temporarily get off his nuts. However, that’s not the issue here.

The issue is why Forrest “appeared” so sloppy and didn’t even try..

that’s what we are questioning here.

If Forest was going to lose anyways, he should of at least had the fighter’s heart he always had and gave it his best. Yes, Griffin has got knocked out many many times, doesn’t have the best jaws, and has lost but at least both of those times he fought real hard.

But for some apparent reason he didn’t with Silva for the ENTIRE fight! So that’s what’s questionable.

Anyways, Spider and the Dragon will never fight because they are in the same camp and friends. Silva already said he wasn’t going to. I’ll tell you what though, I would love to see Rampage and Anderson Silva fight and there is no way Silva is going to walk around with a smile on is his face with his hands down fighting someone like Rampage. Dan Henderson has heavy fist like Rampage and when he fought Silva, he actually made him work. I like both of them so that would be a great match.

  258. jobus on August 22nd, 2009 12:10 am

grifen was so winded before the fight even stared; so one as to wonder if he was ill, hungover or even over trainned for this fight ?????????

  259. StreetFighter on August 22nd, 2009 1:20 am

Forest was probably hung over and half drunk again. He had to lose to pay off his gambling debt. So why do it sober?

  260. ken on August 23rd, 2009 3:16 am

Forrest said before the fight” I’m not here to lose” and once I beat Silva, people will say “oh that’s how you do it” Then Forrest gets knocked out by a kind of a slap as Silva is backing away from Forest. Then as Forrest is on his back he puts his hands in the air to say please don’t slap me again. Then Forrest runs of the ring. Could have been worse he could have cried like he did when he first started to fight a few years back

  261. one on August 24th, 2009 5:33 am

Rumble young man rumble ahhhhh! lmao gotta love this guy.

  262. popoiu on August 27th, 2009 8:17 pm

man why would u rigg it for the guy who everybody thinks is gunna win that dont make sense dana wanted this fight to be a war not a lop sided fight and to be honest i dont think he woulda minded if forrest woulda won cuz hes the ufcs golden boy and that punch was directly on the chin it dont take alotta power if u hit them right on the button

  263. shroom on August 28th, 2009 1:28 pm

it had to be fixed. theres no way forrest griffin would go out this easy. spider may be good but forrest has tooken alot worse beatings and came back to win. hence the fight were he was placed in a arm bar it broke his arm he got out of it and with his good arm he beat the other guys arse!!!!!!!! it was fixed to just give anderson ***va more cred.

  264. shroom on August 28th, 2009 4:40 pm

MMA Expert pfp is not everything. the fight was fixed and im guessing your foreign so you should step in the ring with a ufc fighter heck even me we’ll see who wins american or foreigner in a unfixed fight, i bet a 1000 bucks youll lose

  265. Philly on September 2nd, 2009 2:07 am

Anderson will dominate. He is thee best pound for pound fighter. No need to hate the guy he will dominate heavyweight if he were to go i would love to see him dominate that weight class as well forrest lost all of my respect

  266. chris on September 7th, 2009 10:14 am

just want to say to the people stating this fight was rigged just because Forrest lost in the fashion he did then ran out of the ring and saying we’ve never seen Forrest do that before…..I beg to differ….go back and watch his fight with Keith Jardine. Forrest came in got his ass Knocked out then he ran out of the ring in the same exact fashion…it was the only other time Forrest was KO’d. He’s a good fighter with a lot of heart but doesn’t like to face himself after being destroyed like that…especially in the fashion Anderson done it in. Clearly, you could see Forrest came right in swinging punches at Silva who was just to good for his slow brawling style and Silva’s just go so much power in his hands, plus direct accuracy to hit you right on the button almost everytime, that after three or four of those, Forrest knew anymore and he was going to be unconsious. Anderson is just a beast and is truly the best fighter out there!! Can’t wait to see his next fight! By no means was this fixed though….come now, that be like saying all the other destructions Silva has put on in the UFC were all fixed too, because he made those fighters look stupid and amature. Also, to say that Dana and the UFC fixed the fight to bring back the hype in Anderson bc he is their golden boy is plain stupid….Forrest Griffin is probably more popular than Anderson Silva in many fans eyes so, if they were to fix it they would have given the guy who was said to probably lose but was still the fan favorite the WIN, which means if it was fixed Forrest would have won not Anderson. ….. You people who think that really need to watch this fight over and over and over, then watch all of Anderson other fights, then watch the Forrest vs. Jardine fight and re-caculate your thoughts that the biggest MMA organization in the world would fix a fight like that…..just plain sorry for you fake fans to talk that way.

  267. brandon on September 8th, 2009 11:55 am

Anderson silva is always a step ahead of everyone… ive never seen someone move like him he is so patient and precise i would love to see him go rounds with machida would be a good fight.

  268. toxicrain on September 12th, 2009 1:59 pm

thats bull he took harder punches than that and didnt get knocked down he took a full powered uppercut from rampage and didnt even stop….it was rigged.Machita is gonna kick his ass.

  269. toxicrain on September 12th, 2009 2:01 pm

Thats bull ive seen Griffin take a full powered uppercut from rampage ….It was rigged. And btw machita will destroy silva

  270. My Opinion on September 14th, 2009 1:46 pm

Idk…this fight just seems like it was fixed so much. Forrest was throwing all sorts of sloppy and soft punches and kicks everywhere. (looked like he wasn’t plannin to land any) and then Silva, not really lookin like fighting was on his mind but show boating to regain fans that were previously lost. Dana White might’ve paid them a bunch so that he’d get a bunch in return. Neither fighter looked like they were hurt too much so Dana White didn’t lose any good fighters in this bout, seems like they’ll be up and ready real soon to fight again. so yeah..in my opinion everything just looks like it was fixed.

  271. Chico on September 18th, 2009 11:24 pm

I went back and forth thinking it was fixed until I watched the Kimbo vs Petruzelli fight. The same thing happened there. It’s not necessarilly how hard a punch is (although if you watch Anderson’s short jab at regular speed you see what a hard and fast punch it was) it’s how much it pushes your jaw laterally. This pushes the jaw bone up into the nerve center that causes the knockout. Guys don’t get knocked out from begin punched in the nose it’s a strike sideways across the jaw that does it. Griffin’s jaw definitely got wrenched to the side from that punch and the reason he looked funny or like he was acting when he went down was because he was still semi conscious like Kimbo was in the Petruzelli knockout, remember how he stayed on all fours but didn’t do anything to protect himself. Even when Kimbo was on his back and Petruzelli was whaling him, his eyes were open but no one was home.

  272. james on September 20th, 2009 3:56 am

    HAHAH i love this fight!!

Did someone actually say a Patrick Cote rematch ? He’s a punk in the ufc arena.

  274. poncho on December 3rd, 2009 2:11 pm

chupa mi vergota pinchi anderson silva

  275. dwolv on December 31st, 2009 4:00 pm

the people who are saying this fight was fixed are undinable forest fans. forest colud not even touch him. if that fight was fixed so was the franklin 1 and 2 and marquart and irvin. get over it. forest is a blackbelt in bjj but is he a black belt in and kind of standup. anderson has a black belt in tkdo, mui tui and bjj. stats wise anderson has him beat by alot. the only reason anderson was the underdog in this fight was because he had to move up a weight class which comon sence should tell you he had a size disadvantage but he enjoyed a major speed advandage because of this. mma will never be like boxing. it is cald the ufc for a reason. there are only a handful of people in ufc who could even have a chance against silva.
    shane carwin
    junior dos santos
    cain val
    lyoto
    kimbo…..jk
    gsp
    bj

  276. dwolv on December 31st, 2009 4:05 pm

if you watch closely the best fighters in ufc are counter strikers. and those are the fighters that produce major upsets. that is what mma was orringaly. it wasent to charge and destory your opponent it is for self defence. use your fighters energy against them.counter fighters (silva,machida)2 champions use your brain.

  278. joel on February 27th, 2010 9:14 am

Anderson silva kills every fighter he fights Newton, Franklin, Hendo, Lutter some of the best in the world. There is nothing different about this fight. The fact that a BLACK man can come over to America and beat a WHITE man in a WHITE man’s sport is hard for alot of people to deal with. Racism Racism Racism. That’s all there is to. There have been other fights that look more ‘RIGGED’ then this one but just because he’s BLACK and he beat a WHITE man its rigged.

  279. Josh Newman on May 27th, 2010 8:33 pm

Forrest griffin is an amazing athlete and fighter, I find it hard to believe that he threw the fight, but it sure as hell looked like his head wasn’t in it, and it has nothing to do with racism

  280. barron on June 21st, 2010 2:15 pm

anderson silva sold his soul to the devil for super fighting skills
