Wow, where does one begin, crowd has no clue, ref has even less, standing them up in the first with a submission attempt in the works and side control?!?!?!? wtf. and then this pearl of wisdom from the announcer “I’d give the first round to arlovski” Based on what, if anything that first round should be scored 10-8 to neslon, he controled almost the entire first round and tossed a couple of sub attempts to boot. I tell you this much, I’ll never watch elitexc again, even for free.

That type of standing up wouldn’t have happened if it was Randy Couture vs. Lesnar in the UFC or something. Even the greco against the cage stoppage wouldn’t have happened. It may be boring to some, but it’s not really fair to the fighters when that’s the only hope they have of winning. They let Couture stay on the ground with Sylvia for an entire round in the UFC. Why not give this guy a few minutes with Arlovski? It’s like the entertainment factor takes precedent. Keep the action going and protect the star?

That was a horrible stand-up nonetheless. I’m a big Arlovski fan but a stand-up from side mount is ridiculous. It doesn’t matter if he lost the kimura, side mount is a very dominant position on the ground. From side mount you could go north-south, or go to mount much more easily than if you were in someone’s guard. Those kind of positions should NEVER have a stand-up. All you who think otherwise don’t know jack about MMA.

Arlovsky has great striking, but it was his cardio that gave him the edge…although I must say Big Country did show a great deal of knowledge at the time he was in the ground.

some of you guys honestly think fat boy was going to beat Arlovski? It was a bad call on the ref but jellybelly wasn’t doing much besides putting his junk in arlovski’s face. If he was good enough to beat Arlovski he would have! But nope Jelly Bean got clobbered!
