good fight – frank totally had him

In retrospect Nog training his striking with Stanky probably wasn’t the best idea, lol. I remember seeing a video of Anderson Silva sparring boxing with Nog. I wondered what Silva was doing sparring with a heavyweight. Now I realise Silva was taking it easy on him

  3. R33 on December 28th, 2008 3:47 am

    my world is ended.

It was inevitable! Mir dropping his weight from his accident, preparing properly for a legitimate faight, he had no choice but to pick Nog apart. I appreciate a fighter who focuses on weaknesses, as well as, prepare himself to do battle and not got for the knonckout! Dub19

  6. gwizzy on December 28th, 2008 5:32 am

damn!!! i guess big nog is getting to old to fight now…he was really slow

  7. Timbrado on December 28th, 2008 5:58 am

I think the best days are over for big nog, You can hear it in the way he’s talking. he talks very slow.
the same thing you see with a lot of boxers after years of fighting,

I feel very sorry for big nog because he was always a favo, But on the other hand i think brock
is not gonna get a easy match against Frank,

  8. Trofinios on December 28th, 2008 6:25 am

Never seen Nog so bad. He was out of shape and his boxing was slopy: no footwork or head movement, slow reflexes and bad adaption to Mir’s striking. What we saw was the end of a legend b/c there is no chance we will see the old Nog again, age and too many wars makes him a shell of his former self. As a huge Nog fan it was a tragic witnessing his performance last night.

where the f#cking hell is the video u tossers

  10. KimboDaBeast on December 28th, 2008 7:42 am

Good fight!!! The winner definitely deserves to fight me next. Mir is a chump and I’ll KO him in the first round. After that, Lesner is next on my hit list.

  11. Hitman on December 28th, 2008 8:37 am

Go stick your thumb up your ass kimbodafreak

  12. lee on December 28th, 2008 9:01 am

its like nog is not prepared for this fight. its very far from the performance of his during pride time. lesnar will enjoy this. good for ufc

  13. Jonny boy on December 28th, 2008 9:12 am

dude it was one of the best fights.. i agree that nog is getting older..but even Emilienenko couldnt knock out nog. probably because Fedor strikes are hard but not as fast as Mir’s…

  14. Cashville Heavyweight on December 28th, 2008 11:50 am

Im kinda glad Mir won this fight, Lesnar vs Mir 2 now, is it me or did Nog look out of shape?

  15. Sammyboi88 on December 28th, 2008 12:11 pm

    Damn Nog wat happened smh

well i guess it may b time 2 hang up the gloves….How old is he really???

  16. Francesco on December 28th, 2008 12:24 pm

I’m very surprise that Mir knockdown Minotauro…

  17. Austin on December 28th, 2008 12:42 pm

YEAAAAAA I KNEW IT Mir is the man

  18. Anton on December 28th, 2008 12:51 pm

i have never been so upset over a fight, Nog will forever be a legend

  19. siby on December 28th, 2008 1:32 pm

good fight, Nogueira will ve ever the best legend

  20. dre on December 28th, 2008 2:28 pm

MAn you guys are tripping Big Nog is only 32 and he had a bad fight everyone knows that he gets bet up in the first round and than comes back and win the fight,he fought against the best fighers in history and just got knock out ounce.
So stop hating and saying that hes done because he lost one fight hes always been kind of slow and thats his style.
it was Mirs night and even he knows…
So lets get ready for Nogueira vs Couture….

  21. Boki on December 28th, 2008 2:53 pm

they should have let the fight go on a little longer, Minatauro is known to be able to take beatings. It was an early stoppage for sure.

  22. oogle on December 28th, 2008 3:19 pm

I think Nog should call it quits and coach. He was one hell of a fighter but he has taken too many shots to the head. This felt like another case of Couture vs Lesnar.. watching a legend go down inevitably.

Kudos to Mir though. His boxing looks so much better and I hope he gets his belt back.

  23. James on December 28th, 2008 4:15 pm

    WTF?!?!?!
NOBODY could have seen that coming. Nog has just taken too much punishment in his last few fights. His head aint right. Props to Mir for the upset of the year.

  24. zzz on December 28th, 2008 11:43 pm

Why in the world is Big Nog so damn slow in this video. I think everything is moving in normal speed and he’s in slomo! Getting punched in the head and having his body battered after countless fights have finally caught up to him. He’s been knocked down so often, it was only a matter of time, and his time is up. But to tell the truth I didn’t expect this at all. Mir looks the same but at least this time he made it out of the first 2 minutes without looking gassed.

  25. Rubicon on December 28th, 2008 11:55 pm

    Dre I agree!!!

    Couture Vs Big Nog!

    Clasic fight!

    Can’t wait!

  26. KimboDaBeast on December 29th, 2008 5:45 am

Anyone fighting Kimbo would be an instant classic fight. Imagine how many of you freaks gonna watch it on the internet to watch me fight.

  27. ThousandDemons on December 29th, 2008 6:28 am

I think it’s the accrued damage over the years that had Nogueira taken out.
As was mentioned in previous comments Fedor didn’t knock him out, but maybe had it been this fight, he would’ve. Who knows?

Either way, awesome fight strategy, Mir. You totally had it.

PS in response to the guy who asked why people comment here? Well gee, don’t look at the COMMENTS SECTION until you’ve watched the video! What else are people supposed to say? Huh?

  28. YoungGunz on December 29th, 2008 10:10 am

I had a feeeling Mir was going to step up and show his potential. He was very talented before but never worked cardio…Now he has been focusing on cardio. The boxing was very clean as well. Will be interesting to see if he can stay standing against Lesnar. If he gets bull rushed like the last fight I don’t think he’ll slip out. Although if Lesnar does take him to the ground I don’t think Lesnar can do a whole lot if he is in Frank’s guard. Whereas if Frank gets Lesnar on his back I think Frank can easily get another leg or arm twisted up.

Nog may only be 32 but he has just been in too many hard fought battles. Fedor may not have finished him but he was getting piss pounded. For anyone that thought the fight was ended too early must have been whining too much to see how bad he looked standing back up. His arms were at his sides on the ground and he sat down on the mat for a long time before getting up for the official hand raise.

  29. mmafrog on December 29th, 2008 8:29 pm

early stoppage 4sure look how long kongo got to destroy that guys face. 5-10 seconds longer and maybe the fight would of had a different winner

  30. nicster on December 29th, 2008 11:54 pm

Hey kimbodafreak you should seek some help for your identity crisis you have going on..Dre your right on…It was a great card…The only downfall was the most unprofesional fighter won rashad..The taunting was rediculous. Nogera has never been knocked out, and mir did it, huge accomplishment for the man…Fellas stop talking about kimbo slice, that guy has so far to go before he is even considered a mixed martial artist. He is a you tube brawling douche bag at best….I wish him the best, but he has a long way to go before dana talks to that brother..

  31. means916 on December 31st, 2008 3:40 am

Nog is a modest man, and a great fighter. He got beat but not broken. He will be back..
He isn’t the fighter he was in pride but, He’s got a mindframe unlike any fighter I’ve seen.
Bottom line I think he will be a hellova coach. He might a a fight or two in um but legend regardless.

  32. DRE. on January 2nd, 2009 1:56 pm

Who cares almost every single figher got knock out at list one time and NOG never got finish like he did in the last fight,he fought some of the gnarlyest figthers on the planet and Mir was the first one so give the guy a break and realize that atlhetes have bad days.
I wanna see Mir go against Fedor, crocop,W silva and the list goes on when they were in their prime.
thats what NOG did he fought all the legends in their prime and never got finish.

  33. Platinum69 on February 11th, 2009 1:01 pm

    KimboDaBeast……………. LOL KIMBO SUCKS
