Bill OreillyVideo of Bill O’Reilly discussing EliteXC on CBS with two clueless guests.

I want to throw a second video in here, this one is prior to EliteXC’s debut on CBS. Fox News claims it’s fair and balanced, but the funny thing about this video is that O’Reilly had these same two guests who are obviously uneducated about MMA discussing EliteXC on his show before.

I guess it makes sense to Fox News to bring in these same two guests a second time to discuss the same topic, after all, who wants to hear the opinion of someone who’s educated on MMA when you can be fed the same crap again?

The only ones who want someone to die on the air for ratings would be people like Bill O’Reilly so he can talk about it on his show and say “I told you so”. There has only been one death in a sanctioned MMA fight and it was because of a pre-existing condition. Boxing and american football and many other sports were and still are considered barbaric but they continue to thrive and so will MMA. Bill O’Reilly uses MMA as just another tool to scare people into ratings. It’s like they say ‘No news is good news’. That’s because it’s a built in human condition to want to hear the worst and horrific. Instead of talking about people dying why don’t they focus on all the good aspects of the sport such as the skill and dedication it takes to be a fighter, how without this sport alot of the fighters wouldn’t have had much of a life to give their families. This isn’t human cockfighting, it’s human chess and it’s here to stay. The elitists who think because they don’t like something then it should be banned need to step in the ring or shut up. I’ve seen many many fighters get behind the podium or desk or table and do a better job at ‘the news’ or commentating then the professionals like Bill O’Reilly but I bet someone like he couldn’t stand 30 seconds in the ring.

MMA is safer than boxing. There is a much bigger risk of brain damage in boxing because of the standing 8 count. This sport takes more skill and dedication than any other out there. These guys train like Olympic athletes.

  6. what about boxing? on June 6th, 2008 1:36 am

Boxing has blood as well, it’s just that people got used to it so they don’t consider it “violence” anymore.

The only time i dont support mma is when it’s in some idiot’s backyard with two untrained guys beating each other senseless. But if it’s in a safe environment with professional athletes then it’s fine

it is true that mma is actually safer than boxing. also, they dont realize that mma stands for mixed martial arts. why aren’t they doing segments about preventing parents from sending kids to karate or wrestling practice? this stems from that. i bet they havent even watched a fight because they they would see that mma is much more about sport and respect than boxing is.

The real damage to this country is shows like the o’reily factor. Trying to turn people against each other is worse than two guys wrestling in a ring going for arm bars. Lets blame video games, movies, MMA, and whatever else is availble. Never blame the parents.
