UFC Fanboy right here. I’m glad I watched both events tonight, but i’m even more glad that i watched anderson silva destroy james irvin and for free. However, It was great to watch this 30 second destruction of tim sylvias’ life.
That was a super fast fight. I thought that would happen. Tim sucks under pressure, while fedor feeds off of it. Damn, it was too quick to enjoy. Stop with the UFC vs Pride crap, its not about the organizations its about the fighters.

what a night for mma. if your are a hardcore fan and you saw the fights tonight you saw what makes mma so exciting. both favorites won but i dont think that anyone expected them to win in such impressive fashion. both main events lasted a total of 1:37 if i remember. all of the questions about silva moving up and fedor keeping his title of pound for pound champ HAVE BE ANSWERED. silva looks just as dominant as he was in middlewheight, and nobody on the planet has destroyed tim sylvia like fedor did.
i hope this night gets some positive media from the national sports stations, it was a great night of mma.

Randy is way over rated. He is 45 and who knows when this happens. Those vitamins and supplements that Randy takes only work so long. Fedor is in his prime. People forget how many times Randy was beaten. Chuck knocked him out twice in their last fights, he got a sweet heart deal to move up and fight for the HW title and to his credit, won. He has lost quite a few times in his career. I don’t normally bet but IF this fight happens I am loading up on Fedor.

Fedor v Couture WILL be the biggest MMA fight ever, dont write Couture off though, nobody is smarter than him, i would not have him favourite, but if anyone can find a weakness and study his style then Couture can. Chump Killa, even as a 25-year fan of boxing, I definitely prefer the cage simply because there’s no risk whatsoever of falling out of it. I’ve seen numerous boxers go through the ropes over the years, and that’s just silly. If you don’t think any cage fighters have technical skills, you haven’t been paying attention.

The cage is fine, Forrest Griffin and Anderson Silva have both proved this and are now champions as a result.
In a ring some of Silvas clinches would have resulted in his opponent falling through the ropes which is completely counter productive to strategy and proper technique. It provides an escape for weak Muay Thai fighters and falls into boxing dodging technique. If this is about having less ‘humping on the ground’ or some lame fairweather fan complaint go back to watching terrible boxing matches then because ground game is MMA and its an insult to Jiu Jitsu and top level wrestlers to continually only want toe to toe action like some uneducated homophobic cavemen.
Technically the cage helps both Randy and Fedor’s styles as ground and pound experts and would make for a true show of what they both train for in 3 round wars.

Sure Fedor is a tough guy, but hold on – Tim Sylvia wasn’t much of an opponent, I think we all knew that going into this fight. Let’s put him up against someone who is actually good. I’m not saying R.C. could beat him, but I think there are plenty of good fighters out there that Fedor hasn’t faced.. this was completely expected by all of us. I’ve seen every Fedor fight, His only loss was a against a guy who hit him in the brow with his elbow at the start of the match, Cutting Fedors brow wide open, Fight stopped by Ref decision. Fedors Sambo skills allow him to win 95% of the time when it comes to grappling of any kind. Hail to the last Emporer Fedor, Hail to might. As for that one “loss” Fedor has, He fought that guy again, and simply won. UFC has great fighters but even the UFC champions know that Fedor is better then them, Just ask Nogueira…Wait ask him twice. Cause he lost to him twice, Just remember Nogu, lost to him while having the winning streak.
Brock Lesnar vs The Greatest? He couldn’t beat Frank Mir. Frank Mir can’t take punchs, Lesnar almost bashed his brains out, But there was this huge foot in front of Mir and like a chihuahua after a pork chop, He lunged. It was over. Fedor You ONCE AGAIN gave me great material to add on to your highlight. No one can say Tim Sylvia sucks, You would never fight that 6′8″ beast who can bash your skull in from a distance. Fedor catapulted into his defenses and with a few punchs left him stunned and with one more, made him lose balance, Tim Curled up, Smart move but you have to keep your eyes on your opponent, Nogueira does the right thing and that’s drop to his back. Problem is, he was not stronger then Fedor, nor faster.
The thing about MMA (and boxing) is it only takes one tiny mistake and you’re done. It’s silly for people to look at this fight and make all these claims. Until recently I never watched a bit of MMA and this was the first time I have seen either of these guys so I have no bias. Just my two cents.

Sergei Kharitonov should be Fedors next opponent if people want to see a close and more evenly matched fight. I own every pride show and most K-1 shows. Sergei seems to be the next best fighter on the planet who has actually displayed the skills to give fedor a good fight. All of you who don’t know him, need to just look him up on the internet and make your own opinions about these two former team mates meeting up for a fight. It would be a non stop beat fest for the both of them.

Fedor took out the trash alright. The ONLY guys in the UFC who MIGHT stand a CHANCE (other than Captain America himself) is Frank Mir, Brock Lesnar (after he learns how to apply and especialy counter ju jitsu effectively) AND…nobody has mentioned this guy but i’m sorry..he can dodge a punch and come back and hit you twice HARD! Made Ortiz look like a FOOL. MACHIDA. Machida is a darkhorse who’s still yet to be truly tested and still remains undefeated. So yeah…those guys COULD be contenders i’d like to see step up to FEDOR THE LAST EMPEROR!!!!
Oh and Striker25 when you commented me back you said that Randleman was the only good fighter that Randy beat…you didn’t mention Tim Sylvia so your basically saying that Fedor only beat one top heavyweight Nogueira! Am I right??

Ya I agree with Das King! i think Machida would be an interestind fight for Fedor he’s soo elusive and technical Fedor would find it very dificult to catch him while Machida frustrates him and picks away at him… Or Wanderlei Silva or a Fedor Emelianenko vs Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic rematch if they fight at the same weight though!!! the only thing is there is no Heavyweight capable of beating him except Randy Couture!! Maybe Nogueira and Fedor again because their both after improving so much especially Fedor… and please can people stop putting Kimbo Slice and Brock Lesnar with the top fighters their nowhere near it! We will see what Brock is really made of when he fights Heath Herring next month!

I’m a ufc fan and like it or not dana is a very smart businessman and i believe randy couture is a great fighter.but if you haven’t seen the fedor kevein randleman fight watch it on youtube and if your not convinced after watching fedor get slamed on his head and then armbar randleman watch couture and silvia and compare how they both fared against the same opponent…..randy fights great but fedors a great fighter!!..and this is coming from a ufc fan!!

For ALL MMA fans…i really hope Dana White complys with Randy and gives him what he DESERVES. Randy Coture has made a LOT of money AND strength for the UFC. The LEAST they can do to return the favor is either make it an Affliction-K-1 / UFC cross promotional fight or hopefully just release Coture to Affliction and give us fans who have ordered all the UFC fights what THE FANS OF MMA WANT! I realize there is a business side to it all as well…but i could only hope…that Dana White will give us this fight regardless of how it could make the other biz more money ETC. Randy Couture is not that great as everyone says. It amazes me that you all think. Josh Barrett beat him Randy and he had a great night at Affliction. He is more worthy opponent. Antonio Noueira would be good. I think Arlowski will be ok but he doesn’t have a great ground game like Fedor. Many of you just don’t know and following the crowd of Couture lovers or your just fanboys of UFC (which means you lack much knowledge of MMA)

see many beleave brock is the next big thing and he might very well be maby but first he has to face a fighter that can throw some punches on brocks chin then we will see how tuff brock is really, also people that think fedor is gonna get owned if they face against couture you just have to look at the record when fedor faced silvia wat was his record 24-4 thats not bad and he got smashed like his record was 4-24 coutures record is worse and most were by ko’s and fedor can do both ko’s and subs and wrestle very well and throw hammers.now brock and his 3xl hands hmm when he was punching mir in the face there wasnt much power in those hamms and his last fight he controled the whole time by wrestiling but he was lost the whole time and thats why couture might win and thats why fedor will demolish him because lack of experience on the ground and pound also the stand up game which he has none of.

Well, I hate to burst that bubble you call your head about that great MMA Roosky Mr FeignDor, but if you were to throw a twenty year old MIKE Tyson in to FIGHT Any of the ALLTIME great MMA heavyweight’s, here is what nay have happened.
Between 5 and 60 seconds of the opening bell Tyson would walk out with his fists touching together several times, then his opponent lunges, Tyson moves his head to the side avoiding his opponent’s jab, next he kicks his left foot out to the side and forward a full step and as the foot is planted squarely the big left hand arcs around near mach-1 with a Press Row photographer capturing the punch for all eternity left a bone crushing glove shaped depression in the forehead of FEIGNdor who is counted out, then he is careflown out to the Emergency Room where he was measured for a pine box…
Two things would have happened that day; 1st Tyson would have remained champion for the entirety of his MMA career, 2nd the next day law enforcement would opened an investigation into MMA practices eventually leading to a ban in this current form, and without leaving it’s Imprimatur on an acceptable replacement format.
Also, just general FYI, these are a few people who if placed in a situation of MMA (with the small gloves) would beat the living hell out of ANYONE of those fighters ALL THINGS EQUAL: Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Ribinson, Ray Leonard, Larry Holmes, and probably another 100 boxers I just don’t feel like boring myself to death by writing.
