Are Protien Shakes healthy?!
I am looking to bulk up and gain muscle, however i keep hearing that protein muscle builders have a negative toll on you body if taken over a long period of time? is this claim true!! If so is there any other alternative...

As with most things moderation is the key. Balance ya know?

Excessive protein in your body is hard on your liver and takes its toll. That's why too much protein is definitely a bad thing. However most protein shakes if taken in conjunction with a high level of physical activity and a balanced diet (ie complex carbs, lean meats, amino acids) are perfectly healthy.

My wife is a nurse and when I started working out faithfully we came up with a very healty balance of nutrients supplements etc. Everything in moderation my friend.

That's a lot of sugar though for a protein drink. I understand its an easy home-made version but IMO you lose a lot of the lean muscle you're shooting for with that much sugar.

Cool cool. The age old debate, I want to drink protein shakes but they taste like crap. Unfortunately thats the way of them unfortunately. I've only ever had two protein shakes that I thought didn't taste like complete ass.... Labrada and Usana

Protein Shakes are completely fine for you to take. You would need to be taking in an obscene amount of shakes on a daily basis to overdue the protein your body needs if you are training.

What would you say is a good amount of protein intake to see results in a month or so. 2 protien shakes a day after workout?

2 to 3 a day. before or after you workout or if you know you're going to go while without eating.

They're fine, you won't see huge gains from protein shakes alone but they'll definitely speed up your post-workout recovery.
