Anderson Silva Vs. Chuck Liddell Discussed For UFC 95
Quote:
The UFC is set to return to London on Saturday 21st February 2009.
Sources informed Fighters Only that the site will host UFC 95 at the famed O2 Arena, the UFC third event at that venue.

Though nothing is official at this time, rumors currently circulating from multiple inside sources have placed Anderson Silva vs. Chuck Liddell at the top of the card.

This match up makes sense for the UFC as Liddell was set to headline the last London event against Rashad Evans at UFC 85 before pulling out due to a hamstring injury. Liddell stayed in London however, and made the P.R. rounds to help promote the event. He remains a recognizable name and viable draw in the U.K.

Anderson Silva is also a bankable draw in London having dispatched of local legend Lee Murray in the troubled MMA fighters last professional fight back in 2004. Silva won a lopsided three round decision over the now infamous Murray who orchestrated the largest bank heist in British history and is currently living as a fugitive in Morocco.

This is Match Silva would have to be careful with. Liddell got crazy knockout power drop Silva with one hit.

This would be a great match but I worry about what a loss would mean for Chuck. If Silva loses he still has a lot in front of him. If Chuck goes down its not looking good career wise

If they fought I'd expect Silva's speed to do pretty much the same thing Rashad's did to Chuck, Anderson is definitely smart enough to notice when Chuck puts his hands lower than usual. Then pick him apart accordingly.

Yeah I can see it being a good fight but Silva is just too fast for Chuck

for some reason i think this would be a bad match up for both of them. i could either losing easy. only take one hit from Liddel to drop him.
