That’s not going to be looked kindly on. Amir was getting up when they stopped it, and he didn’t look all that hurt.

    Fire this ref.

Griffin Vs. Silva fight was fixed griffin got paid off!!!!! That was b/s, Dana handle this Sh_t cause it was obvious!!!!

Why fire the ref? Why is this not going to be looked on kindly? The ref did his job, Amir did not. He was rocked by the left hook and took 14 unanswered punched. Six of them on the ground when he stayed on his hands and knees doing absolutely nothing but taking damage. Kudos to the ref and hendricks.

I like Forrest, but he had enough in the fight. He was hurt, Silva was acting like an @$$ and mocking him and his skills, and the last punch to hit him was a (Seth Petrazelli vs. Kimbo) punch. It caught him just right to snap his head to the side and drop him. It wasn’t the dramatic ko punch, but enough to do damage. Payed for the fight, sure…..payed off, not so much. I used to be a big Silva fan, now I think he’s just a jerk. I can’t wait for the day he gets his. And he will……..

TeamKALIBUR U R A IDIOT. You cant fix a mma fight . Forrest Griffen would also never let that happen . He was jst off last night.

  7. Nasa on August 9th, 2009 5:30 pm

    He was standing up…
The ref did a good job on protecting the fighter, yes.
    Still, Amir was standing up.
    Can’t blame either I guess.

    On a another note,
If u want to talk about silva vs griffin fight THIS IS THE WRONG PAGE!!!

Sometimes I think some of you are watching a different fight. Dude, I like Amir….good fighter, loved how he submitted that cocky-a$$ Dolloway twice. Amir is very marketable, has a fantastic demeanor, sense of humor….dozens of posters on sherdog were voicing their man-crush on Amir. But the bottom line is this……Hendricks is no slouch. I was absolutely shocked when I saw that Amir was fighting Hendricks for his first fight outside of the Ultimate Fighter. SHOCKED. Why would the UFC, put him up against a guy like Hendricks? I guess they figured Dolloway was a wrestler type and Amir got past him twice….so Hendricks was another wrestler. The dude was a 2x NCAA wrestling champ, should have won his 3rd his senior year…..the dude was one of the best wrestlers in recent history, out of Oklahoma State. We’re talking elite, elite wrestler. From a wrestling standpoint, he’s got a better track record than guys like Hughes, Rashad, Kos, Sherk, Dollaway, Tito, Bader, etc, etc. Fortunately, the UFC is more than wrestling. And who knows where Hendricks will end up. But again, Hendricks was no slouch. He’s tough as nails and he was undefeated before the fight. And he’s always been very, very confident of himself, to the point of arrogance…but fighters need that. I was not surprised at all when Amir got whacked, and then whacked a dozen more times. He was done. Early stoppage? Um, c’mon, really? You guys think so? Amir was on all fours…..yeah, I guess he could have taken 2-3 more shots to the head to really get KO’d the F out, but honestly, the dude was done.

honestly with the amir fight i do think the reff should have let it go on a little longer but i mean he was gettin his ass handed to him at the moment so i dont condemn the reff for a early stoppage, and i dont see why anyone would lose respect for silva for his show boating when he was killing forrest i just think his a adrenaline was kicking and he might of gotten into it a little bit but he is forsure a badass thought for makin forrest griffin lookin like a scrub but everyone is human atleast he wasnt like lesnar in his last fight flickin of the whole world.

In my opinion the stoppage was a good one. Amir has to be defending himself at all times, he took a big punch and was hurt. And took several more punches without attempting to block any of them. Personally i would have wanted to see a little more just so there isn’t this discussion but the number one job of the ref is to protect the fighters and he did the right thing!!

Anderson Silva was not show boating!!! He is a counter puncher and he does that to get in the head of his opponent and make them come to him, where he is at his best!! Thats called intelligent stradegy! Forrest made the mistake of chasing a counter puncher and thats what happens!! Anderson is one the most humble and respectful fighters you will ever find in MMA. He is payed to entertain the fans and put on a show while inside the cage and that what he does.

i want.to see the real fight ufc iam the ufc fan

WHAT an EARLY CALL, Ref should have waited a few more seconds!! He was GETTING UP! when it was called, he was a bit shaken but I have seen much worst then fighter comes back to win.

SILVA LMFAO that was the funnyest fight I have ever seen, ya ok maybe he is being a bit of a jerk but you know what HE has the right to be!! He is SHOWING how much more advanced of fighter he REALLY is. Gretzky of MMA, he can kick anyone, I want to see him move on & win this second belt. I would love to see a fight with him and Lesner!!

  13. bobby on August 13th, 2009 3:09 pm

well considering lesner weighs 60 pounds more than silva, dont really see that fight happenin. lesner would probably break him in half.

the amir fight was bulshit, he did get caught but he looked fine. he slipped and hendrix hit him in the back of the head. so i dont consider them “16 unanswered punches” or like 16 illegal punches that half of em missed

A standard practice in mma is 3 unanswered punchs is grounds to stop a fight. Amir went down after getting rocked, was on all fours didnt really know where he was at the time and getting hit = very good stop. I am sick and tired of all the people on here that believe that he should be lying motionless on the ground before the fight is stopped. He started to get up because he was starting to compose himself but it was to late, he should have blocked those punchs and after that he had lost regardless of what he did after. The ref i think saw that and did his job accordingly.

  16. bobby on August 17th, 2009 12:36 am

so the ref saw that, but not amir gettin hit in the back of the head. common dude

  17. thekman878 on August 17th, 2009 11:13 am

The ref had poor positioning, he was directly behind hendricks

  18. TeamKalibur on August 22nd, 2009 12:23 pm

Trey, re-read my post. I said it wasn’t fixed you moron. But you can fix a MMA fight……..
