An earlier post noted:

“I’ve got a tip for women fighters….improve your strength and you will get the knockout.”

She was strong enough to break her jaw. I don’t think lack of strength was an issue. Couture will have her jaw wired shut for the next 5 weeks.

I agree if a women want to take the time and effort to do this then god bless them. My only problem with the video are the commentators sounded like they were in a bathroom 500 miles away

KC would hae been lucky to have gotten knocked out in the first punch… at least then she would have only had a broken nose, and not the broken jaw and missing teeth to go with it…

Kim Rose was very aggressive throughout the fight. From the opening seconds she put the hurt on Couture and never missed a chance to land more punches. Rose was however, slowed down considerably when on her back. She had one nice attempted armbar from the bottom, but otherwise was unable to escape or threaten from bottom position. Kim Couture, on the other hand, showed good control in the clinch and had several nice takedowns leading her to dominant position throughout most of the fight. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to inflict any damage while in top position. Kim’s defensive standup was obviously her achilles heel, however she showed tremendous charisma after being knocked down in the opening seconds and sustaining a serious fracture to her jaw! I watched this fight knowing she had broken her jaw and was really impressed by her heart. There are a few vocal detractors to womens MMA and Kim Couture’s going pro and receiving the press that she does. I would argue what right does anyone, male or female, have to say about who should fight or not fight. It’s a personal decision to sacrifice the time and endure the suffering involved in training. It’s also a personal decision to step in the ring at any level and test yourself.
