Even if Machida doesn’t get Evans he should at the very least get Rampage, Forrest, Lidell or even Wanderlie.
As for this fight, it was pretty obvious who was gonna win, Thiago’s fights thus far have been with guys whose names are pretty much unknown whereas Machida has beaten the likes of Franklin, Mcdonald, Ortiz, Vernon, Bonnar, etc. Still I never though it would be this action packed. WOW.
This fight is a suprising gift of the card.
Thiago was frustrated and mentally tired in the end of first round, he basically was waiting time to run out in the end of the 1st, and Machida takes advantage on that, so awesome.
I think the only reason that Machida is still not getting a title shot is because——he is mostly bored to watch, indeed….I can’t even image he goes against Rashad…..2 guys in the otagon 1 running around and 1 waiting to counter…lol
lyoto is not boring hes a beautiful fighter. for awhile i stared to hate the ufc, bcuz of all the “cookie cutter” fighters, most have no style at all but with machida and now jon jones things are lokkin better just wish shogun would shape up, and take over like i know he can.
either way 205 has the best fighters of any division, dont really see rashad hangin on to the title for long or anybody for that matter its just to stacked and varied.

i like machida mostly just because his style hasnt ever been seen,or atleast used effectively in the ufc before

i gottan say i HATED LYOTO UP UNTIL FIGHT FIGHT. but i guy like jardin or rampage should finish him. and dana white should be confused because iam . tito ortiz draws suger rashed only a draw because he lost points would have won. did really really good aginst lyoto even went 4 to submishion at the end of rd 3 . and to top it all of has also beaten forest griffen who just lost the title . mabe if tito did not have a heart of a mouse he could be a lhw camp he even beat w sliva who is kinda looking crapy lately is that not mind boggaling

Lyoto Machida will not get a title shot cause all dana cares about is money , hes one of the best fighters but the ufc fans rather see rampage vs rashad then lyoto. i guarantee lyoto will be cut before he gets a title shot even if he stays undefeated. Werdum was gonna get a title shot but thats not money fight for dana so he got cut.

I think Rashad will decision out Machida if the match comes true, or maybe he will KO him out. Rashad is a really special fighter to prepare with, he got super weird style and great KO power and relentless cardio….
HOWEVER, Dana is right! People ain’t gonna buy a fight with Machida (right now) on the main card. BUT, I will buy the one with him and Rampage (not Jardine though). I don’t like Rampage that much but, it’s exciting to watch him against the Dragon and Machida can really prove himself that he can finish a tough heavy-hand fighter by his style.

i like machida this may have been a statement fight but i dont think so….he would most likely lose if he goes up against rashad or rampage or griffin i think he needs a big win over sum1 thats more deserving like wanderlie or jardeine…. i mean he fought tito but tito was at the end of his carreer and sokodjou but hes a bum…. but itwood b a good fight and if he can beat silva i guarantee he wood get a title shot at whoever gots the title
I love seeing the refs look out for these guys. Yves Lavigne clearly took a close look at Silva at the end of the round and made a good stopage, really doing his job. And a little bit of comfort to the fighter at the end when he woke up. Losing for these athletes can be one of the biggest let downs.

First off, I liked to say that Dana should pull his head out of his ass and let Lyoto fight Rashad. People will buy the fight just because it’s a title fight (Besides the fact that I’m fairly certain Lyoto would pick Rashad apart). And to the people who have doubts that he doesn’t deserve a title fight, maybe you should go look at his track record, and see who he has wins over. I’m glad to see a fighter like Lyoto who can be such a karate buff, but be so dominant in MMA as well.
Here comes the list… Machida won against: Stephan Bonnar, Rich Franklin, Michael McDonald, BJ Penn, David Heath, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Sokoudjou, and Ortiz… all of which are big fights… he has an unique style, but yet it is pretty boring to watch his fight, unlike his brother… but for his record he deserves the title shot… if not… a main event, at least
Good to see a traditional shotoka karate-do trained fighter in the ring, using classic tournament point system fighting, that emphsizes control, accuracy, and power….. and form. Reverse punch-gyaku zuki, and asai barai- foot sweeps…. basic tournament techiques…..

Lyoto and Anderson are all in the same training camp, managed by the same people.
Lots of talks about why not Anderson move up to 205 since the 185 is nearly no people left…this is because their training camp, Black house, is trying to have 2 titles, which are 185 and 205. If Anderson moves up, that only happens if Lyoto lost the title shot.
