I love all these oldschool Matt Hughes UFC’s. Brutal power in his slams. Newton had a triangle that’s why he didn’t let go of it and Hughes was almost out of breath but he was still moving when Big John broke it up.
I’ve never heard the arm chair warrior comment before that’s pretty funny.

Matt was out for at least 3 seconds…. If you look at when Carlos was up at the top of the fence, he had a deep triangle and was holding Matt’s head really tight. I think Matt was out for a bit, but he deserved that win for sure.
in all of ufc reffs there something about that reff that makes me want to punch him i think it might be the way he tells the fighters to get it on.

The reason you want to punch Big John is that he is a cop. I can’t believe Carlos actually listened to him and let go of the top of the fence before putting Matt to sleep. Newton should have held on for dear life.

even if matt was messed up from the triangle he recovered fast enough to start pounding Newton, also the triangle wouldn’t of had that much effect if newton hadn’t broken the rules by grabbing the fence.
