Two prominent veterans fought in UFC MMA-1 Instinct today, Canadian Patrick Cote is fighting in Crafton Wallace and Houston Alexander fought Steve Bosse.
Patrick Cote was victorious against Crafton Wallace took home their third consecutive win by TKO in the first round. Wallace is an experienced fighter who has had one fight in the UFC, losing to Nate Marquardt in 2006. Costa came out strong landing punches and a blow to the fight early, Wallace seemed to suffer a leg injury during the big hit that leads to the stoppage TKO due to doctor.
With this victory Coast could be in line for another chance in the UFC. Costa was released from the UFC late last year after three consecutive defeats, which was not helped by an injury that sidelined him for over a year suffered during his championship bout against Anderson Silva. At only 31 years old, Costa still has plenty of years to make an impact at middleweight.
Houston Alexander was not as successful in their fight against Steve Bosse. Alexander was knocked out by a vicious blow in the second round, ending his streak of four winning the fight. Bosse has fought only in Canada for the course of his career and has amassed a record of 9-1 as this victory. With this victory may well be forced Bosse as UFC winning streak makes its seven victories.
In other fights of the event Eric Esch, Butterbean perhaps best known as Eric Barrak by gullotine lost. Barrak made his debut in MMA, but has struggled through a series of boxing matches in the past. The two men fought for the third round in which Barrak did drop Butterbean with punches and then sink in a guillotine on the ground giving you the first MMA victory.
