MMA Enthusiast is a moron. The sport, for better or for worse, is about controlled violence. That’s why there are rules in place.
Even in the old UFC, if someone gave up, that was it. He can’t claim, like Royce could, that he only held the choke until the ref. recognized it. He ignored the tap and the ref.
