Excited to watch but I think Keith is in for more trouble than he expects.
Rampage by TKO in the late 2nd.
Id have to agree, Rampage is a whole differant calibur.
weak card.
Rampage TKO in the second no doubt maybe the first seems like a silly fight to me but w/e Keith might be a good test. I’m actually really excited bout Gonzaga Carwin. Both men are beasts but I am gonna board the Carwin train look at that dudes record all first round stoppages in the first two minutes!
Yeah but Keith has upset me before in fights examples being Griffin, Liddell, and Vera, but I’m believing that Rampage will hopefully take it to him. Rampage will probably get the title shot and then beat rashad, then he’ll probably have to fight Lyoto Machida and we’ll have gone through 3 champs who couldn’t defend the title through a single fight, and Lyoto won’t lose it cause no one can figure him out yet. If that didn’t make sense here’s a diagram.
Forrest Griffin —> Rashad Evans —>Rampage Jackson —> Lyoto Machida
Yeah Carwin is tough, but his credentials are as good as Gonzagas. This is more of a fight to see if Carwin’s record is really that credible, or if Gonzaga can handle somebody Brock Lesnar’s size. That concept is probably what the UFC had in mind setting up this fight.
jackson will beat jardine, but it will not be a walk in the park. i do not see jackson beating evans. look at how he beat griffen, not hard at all. look at rampage vs griffen, he lost and he was tired. evans has great speed, strength, cardio, and he knows when to pick and choose his shots. we might eventually see an evans vs silva. i dont believe machida will beat evans, maybe jardine and maybe liddell.(big maybe) but not jackson or evans. side note. lesner should not be champion. did not deserve that title fight so soon especially since the fight before that was a loss.
Ok well I guess we’ll find out, cause on the off chance Jardine beats Jackson, then Machida will probably get the title fight, and I think he’ll make beating evans look easy like every other fight he has had (not just UFC). Like really his credentials are lot better than evans, not to mention he hasn’t even lost a single round in his fight history (even against pretty tough guys). I don’t think he’s as big as evans, but he’s definitely the smarter fighter.
But I will agree with you Lesnar shouldn’t have gotten the title fight so soon, even though he got that very lopsided victory against Herring. Lesnar shouldn’t have had that fight so soon.
I like Jacksons chance to win because of his natural ability to crush his opponents. Not to mention his performance in his last fight against his nemesis Silva. On the other hand because Jardines camp is superior and if he executes their gameplan he could easily win.
First of all, the UFC card with Jackson vs Jardine is definetly a weak card-and being on PPV is really a JOKE!!!! Hope Dana reads some of the comments here from the fans.It might make sense to him-but of course it is all about the Benjamins $$$$ anyway! What is Jardine gonna get for this fight 30 grand for brain damage? Look how well Jardine did against the Iceman-he mixed it up and attacked Chuck with leg kicks and got the decision. Trade with guys like Jackson, Liddell, Evans or Lesner you roll the dice! Don’t get me wrong Iove stand-up but to win in MMA you need to get you kicks in and be able to roll-just ask Frank Mir when he made Big Boy Lesner submit…but if you think your going to trade and still be standing your luck will run out…see what happened to Couture, Liddell, W. Silvia and others!!Jackson can punch but if you fight him like Griffin did and attack the legs that will take much of his power away and give him something to think about! But Griffin’s ability to keep the distance from Jackson is what kept him in that fight as much as those painful leg kicks! Machida will keep winning the same efficient way-stay away and attack when the opening is there! Very intelligent fighter who will be the next champ as long as he stays illusive in his defense. Can not wait for Lesner vs Mir 2 in May!!!!!!!!
Even though it’s pretty obvious that Rampage is going to win, I hope he doesn’t because then Machida will get a title shot against Evans.
i would have to watch more of machidas fights but it seems that both he and evans are defensive fighters or counter strikers. i think evans would win because he is faster than machida plus i dont believe can hit with enough force to rock evans. respond to what im about to write. i think fights that would be fun to watch would be kimbo vs cabbage. cabbage would win. kimbo vs lesner. lesner would win. fedor vs lesner. fedor would manhandle lesner. dana white vs joe rogan. im not sure who would win. bob sapp vs kimbo. not sure who would win. sapp vs lesner. still not sure, maybe lesner because of stamina. but i seriously believe that if cabbage dropped down to 205 and worked on groung game that he would be very very good. i believe that he would get the belt. because as a 260 pound heavyweight, he is very quick and everyone knows that his chin is the best in any organization.
and gonzonypd i did forget about the lesner vs herring fight thank you for mentioning it. but still, one loss one win title. come on ufc. i know that heavyweight class doesnt really have any big names aside from couture, but dont rush to get a big name in there. if lesner earned that fight then i would like him more, not that he needs me as a fan, but i would respect his title.
i can understand y ppl may say this is a weak card jus 4 the fact there isnt that many big names fighting except 4 rampage jardine and gonzaga but none the less the fighters that r fighting on this card are VERY good… we all gotta realize that all the fight cards that ufc is gonna produce isnt gonna b like ufc 92 and its gonna b hard 2 re-create an event like 92

“Even though it’s pretty obvious that Rampage is going to win, I hope he doesn’t because then Machida will get a title shot against Evans.”
I dont even think Jackson should get the title shot after this fight, I think machida should’ve had it, Jackson shouldn’t get the title shot after winning two fights after he previously lost it (I’m assuming that he beats Jardine).
In response to Nick, Evans has not really fought a counter striker in the same caliber as Machida, and if Evans is smart he won’t try to chase after Machida if the fight ever happens. I’ll give you that Evans definitely has the heavier punch, but Machida always makes it difficult to land a hit on him, not just by moving around a lot, but by keeping just barely out of his opponents striking range, not to mention he has an excellent ground game though you never get to see much of it. I think he has the right tools to beat Evans. If you can’t tell already he’s one of my favorites.
its so funny when people say this is a weak card, you must not be mma fans….just BIG NAME fans i guess…this is going to be an awesome card. pumpedddddddddddddddddd.
jamesgur. i will admit that i have not seen alot of machidas fights. i have seen him beat some of the guys that are at the top right now, so i dont doubt his skills, and i should probably watch more of his fights before i make my decision, but his form of counter striking seems a bit slow compared to evans. liddell is an aggressive counter striker and evans dropped him like a bag of rocks.
i am looking forward to this card, kendall grove is awesome, brandon vera hopefully finds himself and gets back up on top, pete sell is a game opponent and hes fighting matt brown which should make for a good highlight reel ko(not saying he will ko brown, but somebody will be ko’d) and the ring girls are gonna have mud wrestling matches in between rounds, so im looking forward to this fight.
wow very very weak weak weak card
another so called week card delivers
Weak card my ass there were lots of great fights.. UFC just doesn’t have weak cards!
I agree with the weak card. However if Kimbo was fighting then it would be mega fight. Make it happen Dana!!!
kimbo doesnt have what is takes to make it in the ufc or any organization with great fighters. not yet at least. he needs to do more cardio and work on ground game. his standup is very good but at this point in his training it will be very hard for him not to rely on street skills. if he is in a war and his opponent his inflicting as much damage as kimbo can, then kimbo will fall back on what he knows and thats throwing those devastating punches. he will always be entertaining to watch, and he will never give a dull or weak fight, but if he wants to have a career in ufc he will need to work on cardio and ground game. but your name is tru, kimbo IS a beast
evans vs jackson will be a great fight. if jackson puts on the pressure super hard, he will get ko’d in round 1. if they feel each other out and let their hands fly in round two, then there will be a ko in round 2. i see evans winning the fight by ko. i believe he is faster than jardine, stronger than jardine, and all together a better fighter than jardine, and jardine was able to wobble jackson once, and land hard punches a few times. so my prediction is evans, i really dont see it going all 5 rounds because rampage wants his belt back, and he wants to demolish evans, so he might be the one pushing the pace and getting caught. plus, if evans wants an easy fight, he will just do leg kicks every round, we all know jackson has no answer for leg kicks.
i cant wait to see Forrest Griffin the guy who beat rampage
and was beating rashad evans until he got koed forrest griffin
is still a contender and way better than rampage “got nothing” jackson
i dont know why they are putting rua against liddell. rua is gonna get a mollywopping. he barely squeeked out a victory against coleman, and coleman doesnt have nearly as much cardio as liddell. liddell is gonna beat rua in round 1. rua should go back to pride, i have nothing against him, but he is too young to be getting gassed against coleman. he should have won that fight in round 1. unless he didnt train at all for that fight. and rampage is a great fighter, hes just too good at standup for his own good because he doesnt train for anything else. he need to train for kicks, and then we would really see a great fighter.
